Zune: How We've Lived With It For Three Months

Gizmodo's Jason Chen reports back after 3 months ofusing the Zune... "So would we change our recommendation of the iPod over the Zune? No. All the reasons we had to pick one or the other still stands. If you want movies, TV, a larger music library, a touch sensitive scroll wheel and more accessories, you should still go with the iPod. If you want an FM tuner, music rentals, and a larger screen, there's the Zune." My thoughts are quite similar. I have used the Zune as my daily driver for the past 3 months (or however long it's been out...) and I really have been satified. I don't do podcast listening on my MP3 Players, I don't squirt songs, I love the concept of all you can eat downloads, and I don't like the Apple elitist attitude. All that said, the Zune works quite well for me. The Dell DJ did fine too. I am optimistic for the future of Zune, but for it to be a smash hit, there are many small little things that Microsoft must do better! Source : Gizmodo

I have had my Zune two months and I love it. I got my kids ipods for Christmas, and they wish they had a Zune. I don't use the marketplace.....plenty of CDs and DVDs in the house to put on it (movies converted). I watched Rundown yesterday on it. I also listened to Mobility Minute #10 on it. I have also added some YouTube videos to my zune (with the IE add on)..... And during the holidays, I listened to the FM stations playing 24/7 Christmas music.....and once the baseball season starts, I will be listening to the Braves play on FM.....:)

so for me..the Zune is great. Sure, it has room to grow.... and I plan to grow along with it. I don't regret my purchase!

I was very disappointed when the Zune was announced. Microsoft should have come out with something like the iPhone (minus the phone feature) to make a dent on iPod sales. With their XBox success, I'm surprised they didn't come out with an XBox Portable. That would have really been an iPod killer.

also, I'm surprised that the zune doesn't allow you to watch Media Center recorded TV files.

I still like my Nano personally although I wouldn't be against owning a Zune.
