Cingular will be offering an unlimited in-network messaging planto existing or new Cingular customers. Subscribers must have either a messaging bundle or data plan to add unlimited in-network messaging. The cost will be an additional $5 a month.

The option will be available on Sunday. So for example, if you have the $5 “messaging starter� plan, another $5 will add an unlimited in-network messaging option. The same is true data-access plans, including “MEdia Basic� and MEdia Works.�

mental ambiguity

As great as that is, it'd be nice if they'd solve the issue that many of us have with text messaging.

Cingular as these wonderful email gateways that allow use to send emails to our phones. At one point in time in my life that was a great thing. But now, it's not a good thing at all. The amount of email spam I get ala SMS is ridiculous. Short of having an unlimited plan, I'd get billed for it.

Funny thing about this is that they also came out with a way to manage the ability to send emails to your phone via SMS. The problem with that site is that it only worked for the cingularme.com domain, and my problem lies with the mobile.mycingular.com domain.

Found out too they shut the website to manage that stuff for cingularme.com (which worked well when I tested it) off for some unknown reason.

Maybe if they fix that, I'd partake in this. For now, I gotta keep SMS off my phone. :(
