San Jose Mercury News Q&A with Nintendo

...lays out game plan

There was a time not long ago that Nintendo was a fading icon of the industry but that is all changing and it is changing FAST!With the other leaders of the industry winning the console wars, Nintendo found its niche and now everyone else is scrambling.

The San Jose Mercury News has a terrific Q&A withNintendo that you just might want to read. Clearlythings look a lot different for Nintendo now and this Q&A gives you a little more insight into Nintendo's recent success withfun-to-play games.

The company is using a similar formula with its new Wii console - and seeing similar success thus far. The machine, which includes a unique, motion-sensing controller, has outsold Sony's new PlayStation 3 ever since they both launched last year, and Wii sales even topped Microsoft's Xbox 360 in January.

Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, says this is only the beginning. Sales of game consoles are typically dependent on the number and quality of the games available for them. As Fils-Aime, notes, there's been a major shift in the game industry of late toward developing titles for Nintendo's platforms.

I know I have been doing my part to keep Nintendo alive

with 4 kids we have, I think 4 of every handheld they ever made, 2 nintendo, 2 super nintendo, 2 gamecube and I made sure there was one Wii under the tree Christmas morning......plus all the games.....

But...we have also have all the Sony game systems too.....

They inherited their Mom's "need" for technology.....
