1. I like the voice prompts like "Take next left" and distance.
2. UI is excellent. Explorer settings have great large buttons.
3. Elimnation feature for inputting stuff in "Find and Go" is very easy and it's neat.

1. Looks user friendly even though I've never used a gps before.

2. Route choosing options.

3. Fast loading. Maybe because it's viewing preloaded contents?

1. I appreciate the simplicity of the UI. It is very intuitive and large enough to read easily.

2. I like that I can use it in multiple scenarios such as when I am hiking, running, or in a vehicle.

3. The autocomplete feature is just great.

Being a very visual person, I love small details like the translucent POI icons and animated arrows at turns in the route. I think that helps keep them from distracting too much from the map while still being useful. My 2.5" screen needs all the help it can get :) . The animated destination flag is a nice touch to help get your attention as well if you have the voice muted for whatever reason, though I'd imagine that the zooming and distance indicators would serve the same end.

It's been mentioned before, but the selective keyboard seems like it would be great for one-handed access since it would help to keep you from hitting the wrong buttons while entering an address in a bumpy car (not for the driver of course...hell, who am I kidding?)

I think my 3rd favorite would have to be the screen brightness settings. I've never seen a GPS app with so many options just for this one function. I do a lot of driving with my GPS at work and it often spans at least one sunset/sunrise. Even with "night colors," most apps are still too bright to be comfortable to look at when the sun goes down with the brightness levels that my phone is set to use when charging and constantly changing the settings gets old quickly. The reverse is true with the daylight, as I have to up the brightness to see the screen decently when the sun comes up.

I suppose I should mention this since I've seen people complaining about it in forums, but the price is also MUCH improved from the original release of OCN5, but I'm not sure that really fits into pulling what we liked solely from the videos.

There are so many great features that it was difficult to narrow down to three. I really DO want to qualify for a shot at this, so here goes my top three quality features:

1. The large, well defined buttons (makes use easier while "on the move")
2. The ability to rotate screen in order to have a more complete view of the map in the directions that need more detail (sometimes you want to see further ahead, sometimes you want to see more to your left and right - and let's face it, not many screens are perfect squares or circles ;) )
3. The preconfigured backlight settings (I appreciate "less haggle out of the box").

Good luck to all!

1.) I love the whole route calculation process. Entering the address was very efficient. I especially appreciate the fact that as I type a location-name out, the number of letters available on the keyboard is reduced based on the number of location choices available in the database.. So input is minimal, calculation is quick, and the route display leads me to suspect that I would never need to manually adjust it.
2.) I really love the graphic user interface, it appears quick and efficient, and gives quick access to Advanced menus in two clicks! Very nice!
3.) In setting-up a POI, I really enjoy the fact that I am not asked to first stipulate the city the POI is located it. This should make the process a lot more streamlined. Plus it is nice knowing that the choice-list extends across town borders, when you are currently stradling the borders for two or three different townships!

2. Speaking voice sounds awesome
3. Menu structure looks like it would fit nicely on square screens

Hi,

Features about OCN6 i love.

1. Pluggable IGB SD card that is ready to go.This is the most i love in it. It is so much convinent for my ipaq hx4700 as i have installed all the programs in my CF card slot. Now all maps on the SD card and my 4700 rocks !

2. Fask and very sleek translucent interface. It is not very bright and the colors that has been used are very plesant to the eyes. The pedestrian mode is awesome as i also walk a lot finding for directions.

3. I read from their site that the map data contains Telatlas Jan 2007 updates which is very good and not to forget Efficent address entry process.

The giveaway is made more flavourful by offering the GPS Holux Slim 240 gps receiver...

Good luck everyone !!

Thanks,
Srini

i have used a cadilac gps system before in my grandmas sts. this is the closest thing ive seen to the 1,000 dollar system.
1. i like what is on the map display, the GPS indicator, battery indicator, volume, zoom in and out and and easy menu button.
2. the basic inuitive setup, easy to read and navigate through the settings.
3. and personally i really like the way you can change the from left hand handscape to rigth hand landscape to portrait with a single button. though some might not find that to be a big deal.

1. I like the granular control over the application - being able to set the general speed I will be traveling at, whether it is by bus, foot, car, power consumption options, etc. I wouldn't call myself a control freak but the ability to dial in how the application performs makes for a much more refined user experience as opposed to the developers assuming I want something configured in a particular way
2. I liked the interface and process for entering in an address - as I type the keys on he keyboard would be grayed out only allowing me to type in known words. This helps me reduce mistakes that might otherwise find themselves into the address and then the location not being found or finding the wrong one.
3. The 3d imaging is nice and clear as is the interface in general. It is easy to find information and change screens. In addition, the human voice is much more pleasing than a robotic synthesized voice, which is often times hard to understand.

Overall I think this OCN6 is a great solution. It gets my vote for ease of use and good design.
