True, but it will help push down the price of 256 and 512 MB SD cards!

I wouldn't recommend a Sandisk with your axim, even an X3. A site search for sd problems might sway you. A 1 gig SD sure would be nice, though.

As it is true that the current Sandisk cards have not been the greatest in Axims, the 1Gig card might be different and could be using an entirely different controller than the previous cards. It's just kinda hard for me to slam a new product that I haven't seen yet. To tons of people Sandisk has a bad track record with their SD cards but I have not had a ounce of trouble with my cards and my Ax and I have been using them together since March '03. I have not seen any word of Lexar (which is very good btw), PNY, Kingston or any other cards that is coming out with a 1GB SD card. Of course they will follow.

So I say bring on the Sandisk card and let the others follow; that will help drive down costs of the other cards even more.

I, too, have had no problem with my SD 256Mb card. I have only had it for one month
though. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Ok WHere

1.) Ok where did you get the $99 512 SD card.

2.) I have 2 256 Sandisk cards and the work flawlessly. What is the actual figure of % of bad cards. 200 people with bad cards complaining sounds bad but if there are 10 million cards sold that is not to bad a failure rate.

3.) Does Sandisk replace the bad cards?

Bring on the 1GB SD cards and it'll drive down the prices of the 256mb cards and the 512mb cards...

I have a Sandisk 256 MB SD card and have had no problems. Other than the fact that it is actually only 240 MB...
Also, what is it that makes these cards so expensive?
