Has anyone who has tried both Resco Explorer and Advanced Explorer compare the two? Seems like a terrific deal!

Yes, I was going to comment on this also... I have Resco only, but these app seems to have a few more options and is considerably cheaper.

Anyone use it?

May as well throw in Total Commander (great freeware) when making the comparison, too.

This does look like a good deal, but I've never heard of the application before.

I've just taken a quick look at it and here are some initial assessments. It does seem to be very full-featured, and has more functions than Total Commander (the explorer I currently use). I used the free trial of Resco when I first got my Ax and Advanced Explorer seems pretty similar, i.e., map network drives, associate, hide files, encryption, built-in registry editor, etc. However, the bottom action tab seems to be confused on my X30 running WM2003SE. Options are there but they don't appear on the screen-- you just tap where they should be. I presume that's a function of the new OS. Also, the biggest reason I was interested in AE is the ability to associate files. There is an "Open With" option but sometimes the only exe to associate with is a hex viewer. Even though it's a great deal I think I'll play with it some more.

I saw this thread and bought it without even trying it. This app rocks. I agree, Total commander is the best freeware app, and I've been using Resco ($25). In my opinion, AE gives Resco Explorer a major run for its money! At $2, how can you pass it up. The feature that I've been yearning for in a file explorer is the ability to view (and kill) system processes. This has such a feature, so now I don't have to open Pocket Hack Master just to kill a process!!! For less than a gallon of gas :), this is a must have!!! It's darn near free!!!

Wow, sounds great! But has anyone tried it yet with WM2003 SE? (Yes, I could install the trial but haven't gotten around to it yet.)

I have an X3i w/ WM 2003, so I can't comment on the SE thing. I will say this, if you are considering it, I would grab it for $2, even if it needs some fine tuning to work with SE.

Good point, wooch06, especially since I remember reading that updates were free!

I just bought it. Great price, and I've missed some similar opportunities before and really regretted it. Thanks for posting this information.

I just downloaded the trial and it looks like a good program. However, I use total commander now and I am not sure if I will find enough difference to even merit the $2! Usually I perform fairly simple file transfers and management. The free lifetime upgrades thing is a bit tempting though.

I have been using this for over a year, back when the company was called Taubetapi and the application was free (though I think betaware). It really is a great app, in my opinion, though I have never tried Resco, since I always had this.

I've run into one problem with it, and its minor. The registration code won't stick. It adds Bad COM Entries into the registry, whic hare then cleaned out using Pocket Hack Master.

On the plus side, I emailed their support yesterday morning. He responded within 20 min. He then replied that they are going to have a patch for this issue in a day or 2. Great tech support so far . . .

Does anyone who has WM2003SE find it a bit slow?

Also, has anyone tried the Map Network Drive function? Everytime I try, I always get the error Computer name is empty. I know my network is fine because I was able to map it manually using File Explorer. And Bookie, I too noticed that the bottom bar is missing, although all the functions are there.
