Well as I sit here and try to think why I deserve to win, I really think about my wife who has one of the original Axim's. I remember when I bought it for her for Valentines Day when they first came out. She thought I was buying it for me, but I actually was hoping she would learn to use it and enjoy it. She has surprised me and most importantly herself. For that reason I feel she needs to give her Axim (or Mom's gameboy as the kids call it) a facelift!
One more reason I would like to win this for my wife is that as I am deployed in Kuwait right now supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom with the US Air Force, most people would say I have it rough. However, I never believe that and I believe my wife has it worse than I do as she continues to take care of our family as I left her all alone. How does she do it? She does it with a lot of heart and and full advantage of her old Axim. Its not me or the rest of us military that are hero's as we are sometimes called, but our spouses who we left behind that are the true hero's. We couldnt do our military job without them.
Lastly, all I ask it to consider my hero, my wife for this awesome contest. She would take full advantage of it for her old axim and it would really make her proud to know that people are thinking of her and not just us military stuck here in the desert! Thanks and hope you consider her :)

Since I just took out a loan to pay for my car getting worked on, getting anything I don't absolutely have-to-have is the norm for a while. So it would be nice to get my PDA brought up to speed without spending precious moola.

Please Pimp my Axim. I've had my ax for 6 months and as a newbie I religiously come this site and oogle over all the neat stuff I would love to have for my ax, but can't afford to purchase, due to the fact that I am a student with loans. Every month when I write those checks I think of all the cool software and hardware I could have purchased for my ax with the money, but no, instead the money comes out of my account and my ax is still the same old bare bones pda is was last month.

Please pimp my ax so I can protect my investment (hard case) and so that I can finally let loose the power of my ax.

Please Aximsite....pimp my ax!

If you can find it in your kind hearts to do charity work.

I deserve to win because my life is the model for the Ziggy cartoon.

I was driving cross country to hopefully find work in California, and in the desert just west of Tucsan, Arizona my '87 Yugo overheated. Shortly there after, the engine compartment caught on fire and engulfed the whole car. I lost all my belongings in the fire except for my Axim, it was in my t-shirt pocket. I walked around and finally hitched a ride back to Tuscan where I have been living in an outdoor shelter in 103 degree for the last three weeks (at least they have shade here).

You may ask yourself how am I able to send this message. I had my WiFi card installed in my Axim (that is the only way it would survive the fire), and found a free connection in downtown. I am typing this on my Axim. Luckly, the kind high school kid has an Axim also and lets me charge it on the days he volunteers.

I've been pan-handling for food by playing my MP3's on my Axim since I can't sing or play an instrument.

My Axim has been my Guardian Angel, keeping me going and I think that if I can Pimp it out, my luck will change for the better.

Please pick me

Hello Chris,
Why should I win the great awesome, and totally cool prizes: First, I spent all my money just buying a new Axim(UPS has it right now), and I will need things for it that I probably wont have money for as Im starting college. I have a tendancy that things go wrong. If a situation occured where I could possibly drop the thing, it would happen, definetly, kinda murphey's law. So I think I really need a case. I am starting college, which means I'll have lots of time in the library between classes(of course not during class!) to do stuff like play some ballshooter games. I could lessen my burden by taking notes with a cool program like tengo to replace the stack of notebooks I might have to carry around.
With the agenda fusion 6, I would never miss a class, and always remember to turn in all my assignments on time to the right professor. I will always have a charged battery with the power bundle and little sync cable. After using the battery all day at school, I can charge it on my way home in my car from the cigarette lighter! A case and screen protectors will prolong the life and keep my Axim in prestine condition even through using it all day long, everyday in a dirty and chaotic world.
If I won any of the prizes, you can count on me to pimp my Axim to the max and use everything I get. My pda will be the envy of the pda's at school, showing that Axims rule! Showing up to school with a brand new, totally pimped out Axim would make each day so much better and exciting than if I had a plain, stock Axim. Maybe even attract some ladies! So Chris, Sponsers, please Pimp my Axim!
Thank you for your time and generocity of the sponsership!
~Julian

Why I deserve to have all these nice prizes?

simple answer would be: I will use those prizes to their fullest to improve my time management, my productivity and my axim longevity.

I will not resell those prizes to anybody. The prizes that I decided not to use, will be given back to our Master of Ceremonies. I can help Cris to pick someone from this contest to receive those items if he doesn't mind.

Why do I deserve all these wonderful prizes?
These prizes that are all different shapes and sizes?
Well, because I'm new to the handheld from Dell,
I've not yet purchased a case, my x3i isn't protected very well.

The great software will let me use my Axim to it's most,
Then I can go to my wife and I will boast,
Before all these great things, my Axim was already "the bomb",
But now... even you can see... it's much better than your Palm!

Thanks for the great forum Chris! :approve:

In the last two years I have been diagnosed with Diabetes and with ADHD. I pay over $250 a month for medical insurance and even with insurance I pay over $100 a month for medications and testing supplies.

Why do I deserve to have my Axim pimped? I don't. But why do I want to win? I failed out of college, not because I wasn't willing to work, but because I was always confused and couldn't concentrate. The only thing worse than being stupid is being smart and not being able to apply that knowledge when it is called upon. I just couldn't understand why I looked forward to doing school work and when I sat down to do it I shut down and couldn't focus.

I don't want to win because I'm sick, because I know I am blessed to be able to afford insurance and to not have something more serious. I want to win because now that I know what is wrong and I am working on fixing it I am back in school and working hard to be organized and in control of my time management and contacts (school staff and classmates). I also use my Axim to track my blood sugars and medication use, and you can imagine how much nicer that is than using the desktop.

bigbob is right, we probably should be giving back to the site but then that's not what the contest is. So being an antique, retired type on a somewhat limited income, I think I should be the winner and save some of that limited income for unimportant things like travel to far away places where I can use my Axim for the reasons I purchased it.
;)

Pimp my Axim because it is my hard working little secretary.
I use it for teaching. My lecture outlines are all stored on it, and I read them off the Ax while I teach. When a projector is available, I just show the outlines using the iGo presenter (reviewed on this site). I record grades using Axim and check my e-mail at home with it so that students can always get in touch with me. Because my husband and I juggle our schedules so that one of us is always home with the kids, I use the Axim to keep up with all the schedules--work, t-ball, medical appointments, etc. I aslo use the Ax for research. Turning JSTOR articles into MS Reader books helps me keep up with research while I'm on the treadmill or bike at the gym. I even turn my own articles into e-books so that I can edit them on the go. The Axim is even kid pacifier at times--I let the older one play games on it when he is restless.
I really work it hard! Pimp it up, please!

Please Pimp My Axim

My Axim deserves to be pimped because every piece of technology deserves to reach its full potential. The great fallacy in life is that everything should be fair and just. But my Axim didn't come from a privileged background. While some Axims were enjoying leather cases, fancy screen protectors and really cool games, my Axim3Xi was struggling just to be able to connect to the internet. That sad slow, blue light just kept blinking and blinking, but was never able to connect to the World Wide Web.

With some technical assistance, therapy and a mild antidepressant, my Axim was finally able to find the router. I'll never forget that day when the message changed from 'unable to find that page" to Google. I get teary just thinking about it.

Now my Axim is ready! Ready to expand its horizons, to feel safe in a case that won't let it get hurt when it falls. And most of all, to use those really cool games. Please..take a moment..think about the inequities and sadness in the world of technology. Help this Axim to be proud, to fill it's SD card with games and to feel cushioned and safe. Let this Axim be all that it can be!

PS. I did this in fun and am not really entering the contest. I really appreciate the site and especially Ikehiker's help to get my wireless working. Good luck and I wouldn't want to be on the Committee to judge....Misha

I withdrawl my entry because honestly, with all my problems, I only really have to worry about me. I have a wonderful wife who doesn't require a lot of work. She is happy and giving, and appreciates what I can give.

I'm not going to try and type the name because frankly I hate L's and I's in names because whichever it is I use the other... but the secretary/mother above deserves it more than me (not making a judgement on more than others, just more than me). I don't have children to worry about, keep healthy, and entertain. I just have to deal with me, a giving wife, and a uncharacteristically affectionate cat.

I appreciate the sponsors, and the idea behind the contest. I can't use the case because it won't fit with the extended battery I got (3rd party) and I have agenda fusion 6, and I don't really need/want games so.. good luck to the deserving. =)
