I appreciate the sponsors, and the idea behind the contest. I can't use the case because it won't fit with the extended battery I got (3rd party) and I have agenda fusion 6, and I don't really need/want games so.. good luck to the deserving. =)
Hi..this is off topic..but I wanted to mention that if you are in the US, there is help for students with challenges. I understand your frustration, but now that you do know, you can fight like heck to succeed despite it.

If you are in the US, call your local college and ask to speak to the disabilities services office and they can tell you what is available.

Remember it isn't extra help, it's to bring you to the starting line of the race so that you have an equal opportunity to succeed....Good luck to you...Misha

Yeah, I'm doing okay now. Just have to balance sorting out things neglacted in the past (balancing check book etc) and emails and that kind of stuff with keeping up currently.

I don't want to take more drugs because I have too many and because I need to learn to work on some things myself rather than take a drug to fix something that may work out with work. For instance I don't like confrontation, almost to the level of disliking taking initiative. I have no problem if the school calls me, but calling them stresses me out. It's hard to explain.

I should sit and talk with them and explain this, maybe I can get them to call me from time to time.. dunno. Thanks though, I sometimes forget about school services. Reminders are good.

Off topic again, but important I think. Look, it's not help, it getting what you're entitled to. Many people take things for granted. You won't ever be guilty of that. You know how to work hard and getting something for working hard to sooo much more rewarding than having things come easily. I am a big believer in deciding on a goal and working hard to get there. Fail, pick yourself up, learn something and start all over again. The real learning is in the journey.

If you are in the US, check out this website. Remember, you deserve it, it's not a gift.

Regarding meds...that is between you and your doc, but nobody judges anyone who takes an aspirin for a headache. Meds just help to regulate that which isn't working well at the time. It's not a weakness to take medication. It's a decision of self-responsibility.

Chris,

Yes, my axim is in need of some serious pimping.

Since I acquired my Axim X5 in December of 2002, it has travelled to many corners of the earth with me, both on vacation and for work. It is beginning to show too many marks and scars of air (and sea) travel.

It has been used mainly for downloading digital photos from a camera into a laptop computer (also a Dell), as well as an alarm clock (and calendar, meeting reminders, to do list, contact list, carrier of important information, etc......).

As I have no intention of replacing it in the near future, perhaps the best thing to happen to it is have it go in fao a major makeover/redecorating/reloading. It's just too handy and familiar to replace, but it could use some serious TLC.

I would be ever grateful should you (and your esteemed list of judges) consider me worthy of pimping.

Thanks,

I was on a flight from Chicago to New York last year when the fasten seatbelts sign went on, just then the plane was rocked by some violent turbulence. All I remember from that point on was the sudden rush of air and blackout out.

Apparently, there was a flaw in the fusilage of the aircraft and a small hole had opened near where I was seated, rapid decompression was the result and we were all certain to die. Accounts from other passengers tell of my jacket pocket opening and my axim flying out towards the hole where it lodged and plugged the gap, allowing the pilot to land safely.

My Axim saved 204 souls that day, including mine. That's why it deserves to be pimped out.

I just bought my very first Pocket PC, a Dell Axim X30 High and have found Aximsite.com to be one of the most helpful sites I've ever come across. I was addicted to this site before my X30 was even shipped to me!

While I'm not in the position to purchase all of these nice accessories and programs at the moment, this site has certainly helped me select the right programs and accessories to suit my needs.

As a first time PPC owner, it sure would be sweet to have everything I need right at once instead of slowly purchasing them one by one, but really, finding this site has been reward enough!

It's helped me to learn how to install programs, set up and secure my new wireless router at home that I bought specifically so I could use my Axim's Wifi features, has and helped me to get my Bluetooth GPRS connection going, and I am very greatful for everything.

My friends and co-workers are impressed as it is with my Axim and if I was ever to pimp it out quite like this, I'm sure I could win a few of them over!

Regardless if I win or not, I'd love to give back to this community and donate a hosting plan from my company as a future contest prize if the owners of this site are interested...

oh yeah, ba by, i *LOVE* free stuff!!!

I gotta have it cuz my kids wood no that I waz kool. Besides, I took the Geek Test the other day and I only scored "Major Geek" and this would surely up my score.

I am the same age as Bill Gates and my kids don't think that kool is possible for someone that old. But if I had all this cool stuff, they couldn't argue with that.

I am an engineer and I am expected to be a tech trend setter in my organization but right now all I have is just the plain old leather case on my Axim when I go to work. This would be stylin' compared to my current dress code.

To quote some lyrics from a Dweezil Zappa song "...gimme, gimme some free $%^... I gotta love some free $%^ ... please gimme, gimme some of your free $%^..."

I don't know that I deserve to win, but I'd sure like to!! I am a gadget geek, and since my wife and I are expecting our first baby and we're saving up to buy a house very soon, I haven't been able to feed my gadget habit lately. This contest would sure help with that!!

I have a very reliable X5 that I've had for just over a year, and I love it to death, and I'd really like to beef it up a little bit. No need for a new PPC when the old one will work just fine, but it could use some updating.

Thanks!!

Boy, do we have some creative folk jumping outta the woodwork... :D

I don't need any pimpin' for my X5 as I have a good chuck of the software listed (or equivalents...), but I'd love to help pimp my wife's X5 and my niece's X5. I bought my niece an X5 Basic for Xmas last year, and my wife an X5 as part of her anniversary presents a few months ago. Some of the software I've bought I was able to put on their devices, but other great ones like Tengo (excellent keyboard !) I would need to buy another license.

I know my wife & niece could split up some of the great Resco products. And my wife could really use a nice aluminum case to protect her Axim in her purse. She's using an old case I had for a Palm...the X5 sorta fits in it but a snazzy aluminum case would certainly be better.

So... a vote for me would be a vote for my wife & niece. It would help get me out of the doghouse I'm perpetually in and save me $$ buying flowers...

Chris...

Pimp my Axim contest

First off, I'd like to say that I am no more deserving than any other users of this great site. Thanks to everyone for their posts. I come to this site daily for all the great Axim information. You guys have made this site a daily visit of mine. Thanks for all the great info!

I would love to pimp my Axim X3i out especially since I have the standard case, a few decent programs but need more! I use my Axim in my jpb daily and it goes with me wherever I go. I would really love to pimp my Axim out to show my wife how great this thing really is! I'm trying to convince her to buy one but so far have been unsuccessful. A pimped out Axim (which I would really enjoy and tell all my IT friends that AXIMSITE pimped my axim) would show my wife how cool and useful these "geek gadgets" really are!!!

Thanks (please let me win!!!)

Since a fellow fatwallet.com (i have to give credit where it is deserved) user linked me to this site, my old X5 has seen new life. Like with any new toy, when I first got this for graduation from highschool in 02, I used it all the time. Then a few months later it was sitting on my desk in the cradle. I saw the X3 and the X30 and I think they are no where near as cool looking as the X5. So I decided to keep mine. This being a Dell there really aren't many outside companies that make custom add-ons, the same problem I am having trying to find accessories for my Nomad, so it would be cool to get a jump start on programs and that sweet Rhino case to make my Axim that "new toy" again.

Im a very new member but my knowledge of and use of the Axim has grown exponentially. Most of all, I actually use it now. I even program in when I go to sleep, although it never is how perfect it looks on the screen. I will be a 3rd year Mechanical Engineer in the fall, and let me tell you most of the classes I will be in are boring, (or just too hard I will let you decide) how cool would it be to bust out the Axim and pass time playing games or just showin it off.

The only thing I wish was also in the contest was a sweet new paint job with some graphics, perhaps even a new chrome stylus. Im out of warrenty I would be up for it.

Thanks for the contest OP

I tried pimping my significant other but they did not cooperate.
I have a new X30, so I really just need some spinners and a hydraulic suspension for my Axim (so it can look good at the traffic light while it jumps up and down).
Although free stuff is always appreciated, after reading some of the other posts how can you compete with patriotic soldiers, crippled kids, disabled citizens, lonely widows, and homeless geeks? It sounds like you should have free groceries and psychiatric sessions included in the contest.
I could hardly read some of the other posts due to tears welling up and having to blow my nose (thank God for screen protecters).
Here's my pitch: I'm a greedy person who wants free stuff because I hate spending my own money but if you give it to someone else and I ever have power over you, I will remember and make you pay. You need to make fear your compelling reason and "GIVE ME MY STUFF, I WANT IT NOW! AS A MATTER OF FACT JUST END THE CONTEST RIGHT NOW AND REMEMBER WHAT I SAID ABOUT HAVING POWER. I COULD BE THE MAILMAN! ". (Whew, time for my medicine).
