Forget Wifi and 3G. 4G? 1000mpbs download?? yes please!
yummy yummy download speeds. http://news.mobile9.com/2004/06/docomo-tests-4g
by the time this comes out (late 2006?) 3G would be readily available everywhere. Wifi would be to expensive and signal hard to connect - unless Wimax takes over.
But none of these can beat 135,000 kbps while travelling in a car

Sure it's great to surf at these speeds, but unfortunately it would also cost you an arm and a leg :-(

Seriously now, "1000mpbs download?? yes please!" while yes it is coming, and yes it will be nice, of what use will it be? I have broadband now and many sites cap the download speeds from their server anyway to reduce bandwidth usage. As it stands right now, you can only really get fast consistent downloads from pay download sites. all the others cap you at around 100-150kb/s downloading (yes i do know the difference between bits and bytes.) So my point is, if the speed ever becomes available it will be useless for a while until websites start waking up and increasing their bandwidth as well.

an arm, a leg, other arm, torso, and your entire bank account.
I just cant get my head round download speeds that fast. 1gigabyte/sec means an average download of 300-400mbps. I could host an entire p2p client with that

Downloads from web sites are not the only application for high bandwidth. Just think about media streaming, VoIP, P2P and who knows what.

with a 1mb connection you could download a 2gigabyte file is about 5 - 6hours.
So with a 1GB connection (1000 times faster) , a 2gigabyte file would take 3 seconds.
bare in mind this is all in a single cell phone, or a laptop card. Or a PDA.
