Opera!?!?

According to MSMobiles.com, Opera is finally making a version for Windows Mobile. For those of us looking for a real browsing alternative to PocketIE, it looks as though our wait may soon be over.

I think that's because it takes too long to be carried out.

Although I'm not a real fan of the Opera Windows UI it is nice to have competition. Can't wait to try it out ;).

I use Opera on my laptop, and at work... i refuse
to use IE anymore, and i've tried firefox, but i
prefer the latest version of Opera.

I cant wait to see it on my Ax.. all though I think
ftxp Browser is pretty darn good.

I received the press release from Opera and asked my contact some more info. It will only be available for WM Smartphones at first and based on demand they will port it to the PDA form factor devices. I highly recommend you email them to let them know you want to see it on the Axim devices. Opera was one reason I kept picking up a Zaurus device and the mobile version of the browser is VERY, VERY good and blows Pocket IE out the door.

I've been following the development of their "small screen rendering" process. Very impressive! I've been longing to try it out on the 240x480 PPC. This will be a huge improvement over PIE. My curiosity is how big the footprint will be ...

The reason you can't install, is because it is made for Smartphone version of Windows.
