Sorry, but Repligo is crap for me. I spent over an hour installing and uninstalling this software and finally called their number in Colorodo.

The man I spoke to wasn't helpful and told me that the only way Repligo would work for me is to buy a "docking station" because Repligo requires a "LP1" or "LPT" port or something like that. HELL NO! I'm not shelling out $200 to get a docking station to get an already overpriced piece of software to work properly!

No thank you.

How is Repligo overpriced? Sure not having a LPT port sucks, but that doesn't mean it is overpriced. Show me one other program that does this for anywhere close to that price?

I have to agree with Cagey. I think your issue lies more within Windows ME rather than the product itself. Does it say that it supports ME on their download site?

I don't feel that this product is overpriced. For what you are able to accomplish, it is a great value, affordable for home and business users alike.

One last note, remember, ME is nearing its EOL, and devs are going to stop supporting it. This happened with 98 as well. Might be time to upgrade your OS to 2000 or XP.

On a side note, I did run into one issue with it, and it was of my own doing. I removed the Repligo Assistant from the HKLM - Run key in my registry. You do need this to start up for smooth creation of Repligo docs. Once I added it back in, its been fine ever since. I give it an A+ :approve:

Sorry, CageyJames, but show me anywhere, anywhere on their website, README documentation, on Pocketgear, on Handango, ANYWHERE, that states Repligo DOESN'T work on Windows ME.

Anyway, I spoke directly with one of their people and he never once said that Repligo DOESN'T work with my OS. Nope, he said that I need some sort of port/port replicator/docking station. That's it. He never once said Win ME was the problem.

And yes, for a PDF reader/converter, $29 is expensive especially when Adobe is FREE for the PPC and for the PC. I know Adobe has it's problems but at least it works.

I guess I'll stick with Adobe and save my money for a piece of software that actually works for me because Repligo sure doesn't. (If it works for you, GREAT, but it doesn't for me. Good luck with it).

Can't say I've ever seen a working copy of Windows ME.

Maybe because it works on Win ME

Where do you get Acrobat for free? The reader is free and so is the Repligo reader. You are confusing the product. Adobe is $130 and Repligo is about $30. Much less. I can understand people not wanting to pay it due to not really needing the functionality, but for me Repligo is more important than any other program on my Pocket PCs. Repligo is not a PDF Reader or Converter, it is a document viewer that allows you to view any document on your Pocket PC or Palm and have it readable. To see how this works, go to http://www.cerience.com/samples/2.0/index.htm and check out the samples with the reader on your PPC. You'll see why people are in love with the program.

That is fine, if something doesn't work on your computer I can understand you saying it isn't for you, but you said it was an "overpriced piece of software", which it is not compared to other solutions. You can download PDF creators that are about the price of Repligo, but if you have issues with LPT ports, these PDF creators will have the same problem.

Do a search on almost every PDA site and you'll see Repligo is one of the most respected applications out there. There must be something wrong with your Windows ME installation because there is no reason why it shouldn't work.

The REAL problem with adobe? Let's be blunt is has no landscape mode, no annotation mode, and the quality of the graphis a lot poorer then this program.

You have to print the document as a PDF then copy it to your PDA, Here you just hit the arrow key and it is done for you.

Does it work on your PDA is a 1st question?

Are you printing the document or letting the program convert it with the macro?

Seems to me that ths would solve your problem.

CageyJames, I respect your opinion but you have to realize that if something doesn't work for a person there's no amount of "talking the product up" to get that person to believe that the hassle they are experiencing justifies the price tag regardless of the price it's not worth paying for a piece of software that just DOESN'T work on THEIR SYSTEM.

Repligo is useless to me. Period. No discussion. No arguing it's virtues to me. I've already tried for 2 hours to get it to work not including the long distance phone call I made to Cierence's office. I sure as heck am not changing my OS in the hopes of getting Repligo to work. No thank you. Windows ME works fine for me. If it doesn't/didn't for you, that's your experience, not mine. Good day. :approve:

I have never said you can't be unhappy with Repligo, what I do disagree with you is that is is expensive. Your problem is with your PC, not with the PPC apps. So by this argument, it works just the same as it Acrobat Reader does. Both, I assume work on your PPC. If you had a full copy of Acrobat, you'd run into the same problem as Repligo on your Windows ME because it prints the same way.

Not every application would work on everyone's system set up. You did right, FallN, on trying Repligo instead of buying it outright. It is what trial is for.

For me, Repligo is wonderful. And to make one more point clear, Repligo is NOT just a PDF converter. It could convert HTML, Word, graphic, and many other format, AS LONG AS you have the print function on the application you use to open said files. If someone forwards me a great article on some webpage but I don't have time to read it at the moment, I just convert the article into Repligo format and wait until lunch time to read the article on the X5.
