It has only been a couple hours since the official announcement of the Dell Axim X50 lineup, but there are already quite a few reviews out on the enthusiast sites. It looks like Dell has the right idea and supports the enthusiast community in addition to the big media sites and here is a roundup of reviews. Since the devices won't be shipping to buyers until November, it is valuable to check out as many reviews as you can so you can read differing opinions and help make your own judgement since you can't touch and feel the devices in retail stores. Feel free to post links to other reviews as they come online. I know Jason Dunn is working on his X50v review that should be posted soon too.
The x 50 is here...!!! Checked dell and dell.ca at midnight, nada
7 am US site had the goods...3 Pm dell.ca was updated but had to call for pricing.Boys and girls.. at $ 829.79 Canadian, taxes and delivery included for the x50v ,my 5 MONTH OLD x30 624 with
an anodized case and a 1 GIG sd is still looking pretty good.
I purchased my beloved and much coveted x30 at an intraductory price of $ 429 CDN taxes and shipping in.Ok CF support,VGA ,128 ROM,16 MB VIDEO RAM is nice but at what price? With Mini Stumbler
and DVD to PC, Tiny Sound IPOD emulator my x30 high is loads of fun.............unless I receive the right offer.
I think it's a fair assessment. WMP10 has some UI features not everyone will like. Additionally, the value of the x50v would be higher if they had included 128MB of RAM, which is a HUGE oversight in my opinion. For the price, they could have at least split the difference and given it 96MB. RAM isn't THAT expensive these days.
They also skimped on battery life. Sure you can buy more battery capacity, but the base battery life is a negative, too. Value 7/10 seems like an accurate rating.

I have heard it said that the death penalty is not enough of a deterrent.
I think that's because it takes too long to be carried out.
Isn't that just the endgadget list? Except, stolen and without credit?
ummm No. Matt took his time putting this list together. A combo of the emails reporting reviews and known places created the list. What would prompt one to make such an statement?

komal,
I don't usually respond to people who make ignorant, uninformed comments in a discussion, but I thought I needed to step in here for a minute. Chris called me on my phone to ask if I could help him out and create a post with links to all the X50 reviews I could find online. He was very busy and it happened to be my lunch here on the West Coast so I went ahead and created one based on my surfing. I had the entire post down in TextPad and had already put it into a post and was about to click submit when Chris called me back and said Engadget had a list they just posted. He asked if I was done and since I already was he said go ahead and post it then.
I am one of the most honest people you could ever meet and will tell you now that Engadget had no influence at all on my post.
Enthusiast sites like Aximsite are designed as a place where people can come for help and there are quite a few of us who give up what little free time we have to educate and inform mobile device users so I don't understand when people like you make comments that have absolutely no worth in helping people out, but are just made to make you feel better and are not even correct. Let's try to keep the comments positive and grow as a community, shall we?

If i can live with 64mb in my x5, I'm sure I can do the same if its the x50. and 7/10 isnt accuracte becasue you ahve the ipaq going for 650 and the fujitsu model for almost 700, you have to give more credit than that

Ignorant how? Sorry if I'm wrong, seemed logical as engadget had the exact same list, the same multiple links to infosync, but earlier than aximsite.

Don't newscaster report on similar news? Are they copying from each other? Both lists were compiled from the same source, THE INTERNET, so why does it look like one copied the other to uou?
If That is true then when I do a search on yahoo then the same search on google, google must have copied yahoo.
Matt does deserve credit, but so what they look the same. You have your list of reviews to read while you sit in the corner and think about what you have done.
And the purpose of your post komal was......? Why even post something that has no value to the discussion?
By the way, I had my list broken down by device model to try to help people find what they were looking for and I also seemed to miss the CNET link than engadget had.
Let's try to get back on the real topic here. Has anyone found any other links to reviews? If so, then feel free to post them in this thread to help buyers make an informed decision.
