What am I doing wrong?

I downloaded the new ActiveSync, both saving it to my desktop and running it direct. The files are extracted and then copied. Then I open Activesync and the version is still 3.7.1. I have tried a couple of times.

Any ideas? Or should I just take it as an omen not to upgrade?

Anybody have any problems with pocket weather after loading active sync? Mine quit updating (or refreshing) and I can't figure out the problem. I tried deleting the program (PW) and reloading, but that didn't work. Avantgo updates fine and I've loaded other programs with the greatest of ease too. I also tried the test feature in PW, it says I'm not connecting to the internet or something like that. How do I fix it?

I had the same problem after i installed ActiveSync 3.8 . i turned off my firewall and tried to update and it PW worked fine . I turned my firewall on and PW updated.
i think there is also an update issue with PW version 1.00.08 and 1.00.07 , check out their forums .

Anyone tried if it works with Win XP x64 Edition?
Active Sync is the last thing that holds me back from migration.
And its from Microsoft itself...Come on you can do better!

Update worked ok, but I had to reinstall avantgo 5.7 because the AS5.8 silently downgraded the avantgo to 3.3 again.
I reinstalled on the pc side and canceled the update onto the PPC, because it has already the right stugg and is not influenced by the update :-)

yeah me too, wmp10 sees my pda as a storage device so it conflicts with activesync 3.7.1 but i dont think it conflicts anymore.

I just found out that MS released version 3.8 of ActiveSync.

I updated a few days ago. I don't see anything different, although I never really studied ActiveSync before.

I am wanting to do the update but my pins are bent on my axim. The only way i can sync is wirelessly. Do you have to hook the device up USB again and get it recognized after the update. My activesync works fine so i think i might just let it be unless someone tells me you dont need to hook it up again. Thanks JDH

I would stay on 3.7.1 as nobody found a real enhancement and if 3.7.1 works for you at the moment stay until you get a replacement unit because of the bent pins.
If I remeber correctly it did not require a connect after installing, but the problem is, you never know, how different systems behave.
