dl'ed the trial and so far it's very nice (small gripe: app doesn't exit cleanly, even when using the Task Switcher to exit, I had to force it to quit. This was on an x30H with A05).
does it do the whole "show up in one corner of the screen if you are running in real VGA" thing for ther people too?
Hi - I'm the developer of WordPop! I made sure to test on several Dell's in VGA mode and did not come across this problem. Any chance you can send me a screen shot?
When I use the 'X' at the top right of the application it only minimizes the app...
So to 'truly' exit, I use the 'Switcher Bar' (v2.0.7) utility that comes with the Dell Axim. But when I do so I'm prompted that the application is not responding and asked if I want immediately close it down (to which I say yes).
But, to be fair, when I close the application from the built-in 'Memory' console, I have no such issues so perhaps the Switcher Bar just has a shorter timeout while waiting for app to close.
I went to the site and downloaded the trial (first 25 games). I'm a complete cheapskate and try not to buy much software at all, but this honestly, could be one I'll buy. It seems almost too simple for $14.95, but it keeps sucking me back in. Every combination is different. I do not spend much money on toys, games or superfluous fluff, but this one keeps my brain stimulated and is well thought out and explained.
I feel exactly like you Purr. I normally don't buy games (until lately) and I'm trying to build my vocabulary and exercise my brain more.
I already own TildeTech Word Games Suite for the same price (just bought it before I saw this thread). It has five word games (Bobble - which is like the game Boggle, and sort of like Word Pop, but it is timed and you reuse the letters), Hangman, Scramble, Bobbage, and Bobzee. I'm still familiarizing myself with the last two because I'm already addicted and constantly playing the first three, but they come with help screens and look easy to figure out. The best part is that it comes with a dictionary and offers you to look up the words. You get sooo much with this purchase! I really like it and highly recommend trialing it too. Info and screenshots at http://www.tildetech.com/wordgames/products.htm
I have them both stored on my SD card and WordPop opens much faster and has better graphics, but I think the TildeTech suite is addicting too and a great value.
Boy do you have that wrong. You're way off base here! I'm just another consumer and was only trying to be helpful to you because I think WordPop is way overpriced and you mentioned the price too. I'm not affiliated with any software company.
Truth be told, I found the other product AFTER I saw this thread because although WordPop looked interesting, its high price is what made me search around. Again, I repeat, I was just trying to be a helpful and informative member. Perhaps I've helped other members looking for word games.

I found the thread helpful and will look into the software mentioned.
I wouldn't read too much into the other comment. You're just trying to be helpful and others might just be a little cynical or don't appreaciate the implications of how their phrasing might be interpretated. No big deal either way; don't let it stop you from wanting to be helpful.
I certainly appreciate it when people share their experiences.

Dave, Thanks for taking the time to write too. I hope most people reading my review type post take it the way you did. Guess I was being a little touchy. Everyone getting to share their honest opinions is what makes Aximsite the great website that it is!

Thanks for the details. Not sure what would be causing the problem but I'll have my lead take a look at it. I have not seen any delays on the other devices we tested on, but Dell's are clearly very important for us to work well on.
