
Looks like HP is researching how to
maximize battery life. No, it's not a total revamp of the Lithium Ion - it's based on energy saving strategies within the device. According to PhysORG, HP has "developed an energy-aware solution that dims parts of the screen that aren't in use." So instead of having the whole screen lit up, only the parts you want will be.
I think it's an excellent idea, but should be offered as an option - just like the "Auto" setting is in the X50v processor setup. There are times, especially when I'm reading a book, when I'll want the entire screen lit up just because my eye always jumps around the page.
