IVFDad: Nice spotting! :)

FlyACL: I'd rather let PDAMill comment on the price. But $15 for a game that will provide you hours of fun and new puzzles regularly is fair enough I guess. To be honest, we have formed a "content creation team" for this game just so we can churn out new spotpacks every so often until we have several hundreds more.

smartchic247: Did you download spot_ppc_demo.exe? Just double click on it to run it and it will automatically launch the installer. From this, you can just follow through the wizard and install the game on your device. Make sure that your Pocket PC is connected to your PC though.

I think $15 is quite reasonable if you enjoy this type of game considering the multiple puzzle packs that are available and being developed. Of course, I am one of those who will shell out $30 for a PPC game with no problem ... hehe... gotta have my games :D

Where are you downloading the program from? Perhaps try another site (ie. Handango, Pocketgear, PDAMill, etc). Wish I could offer another suggestion.

I used the link that was on the screen with the description which i believe went to pdamill. I did however find a way to install it. I had to go to the installation directory on my pc and drag the cab file to my axim, then double click on the cab file on my axim and that installed it just fine, just didnt have a choice on where to install.

Ahh.. I know we didn't have an installer while the game was in beta. I haven't checked it out since it was released - just assumed they added an installer. Sounds like they didn't.

There is a similar game at pocketgear called SpotMe and the cost is $5.

Dave, smartchic247: I will escalate this issue to PDAmill and we'll double check the installer. I'm not sure what's happening but I've tried it on several devices and it was working well before we released the game. I will get back to you guys on this.

smartchic247: In "Spot!", you are guaranteed never to play the same set of puzzles twice! :) This adds a lot to the game's replayability.

Cheryl: Were you able to install the latest version on your device?

I downloaded the demo from PDA Mill's website, Eric. I had no trouble at all with the installer. Strange happenings, eh?

FWIW, I also downloaded the demo form the pdamill site but never got it to install on my Axim. It did install a shortcut to my desktop and add a folder to my programs menu. But all the shortcuts just go to the pdamill web site. Guess it was just not ment to be.

Adam

*edit* I also tried form the Handango site and got the same results. Lots of web shortcuts on my desktop, but no demo on the Axim. Same as the other posts above. I did not look for a cab file anywhere as I think I have spent to much time on this already. Congrats if you got it to work. Take care~

I decided to purchase this game, even after my installation troubles, from handago and the installation went perfect this time. Don't know why, but it did.

I purchased this last night. I am a member of the PDA Mill newsletter thing and wound up getting it for $12. Not bad for a game of this quality.

I have several PDA Mill games and feel they are well worth the price. If you wait long enough they will go on sale and those who won't spend the $15 can have it cheaper, but you'll just have to wait.

Great game!

I had the same problem with installation as well - after clicking on the downloaded file the installer thingy wouldn't appear and the "Spot" shortcut that installed on my desktop only linked to the Pdamill site. I decided to check my program folder and found the game there. I then extracted the arm file and copied and pasted it in the SD card in my Axim X5. I hope that this helps. I am not home to double check the steps that I took so forgive me if I am giving wrong instructions.

Hi Guys,

The demo should work well now. We've found where the problem lies and we've updated all demo download links for the game. For those who had problems installing the demo, you may redownload now and try again. Thanks a lot for your patience!

Dave: You must have purchased right after we updated the installers so that's great! :)
