Update : VITO SoundExplorer

VITO SoundExplorer, New version 1.25!

VITO Technology announces an update of its MP3 player and recorder for Pocket PC, VITO SoundExplorer. New version 1.25 features 3 dynamic processing filters: booster, noise remover and limiter. They are useful not only for those who listen to music on their Pocket PCs, but also for musicians who record their own music with SoundExplorer. Another new feature is Voice Pitch Lock. It allows keeping the tone of the voice when changing the playback speed, which is extremely convenient when taking notes or learning a foreign language. You can download SoundExplorer for free at the website of VITO Technology, www.vitotechnology.com.

I've been using this app for a while, and it is great for recording conversations in meetings. I like that the new version has pitch control when playing at faster speeds. I want to try it out, but the demo download is still the old version (1.15)!

Hopefully they will correct this in the next day or so.

This software is true-vga aware! Fits the screen nicely and text is large :)

How cool is that! The Demo version I downloaded from their website is 1.25.

PocketPC Magazine featured a quick article on the various recorders, and the three seem to be:

Vito
Resco
Note M

http://www.pocketpcmag.com/newsl_jkw...ide.asp?id=240

Also, a link to a more thorough article:

http://menneisyys.freeweb.hu/mp3/

I personally found the quality of NoteM to be better than Resco (thank goodness for free trials!).

Can anyone attest to the quality difference between NoteM and the new Vito?

sorry, the x50v does NOT have stereo recording ability.
just plugged a stereo mic in and tested. No go.
the ability to pick stereo in preference is a red herring.

the more thorough article is great! reading it now. thanks.
might have saved 80 bucks if I read it before buying the stereo mic, AT Pro24. A good value mic.
thanks, Hal
