I agree that they are being slightly deceptive. The desktop verions is free but the PPC version is $50 alone and it seems that if you wanted to uninstall the PPC version, the desktop version goes as well. It does not use a standard Windows install and removal proceudre, so goodness knows what it leaves behind.
Come on guys, I admit that it may appear to be a little deceptive, but I am really surprised about all the negativity to the program. Everyone complains about Pocket Word being such a horrible product. Someone actually created an alternative product and all the responses are "Uses too much RAM" and "Useless" and "Too Expensive."
I for one am not sure if I will pull the trigger on this deal, as I don't use PocketWord so much that I need a more feature-rich product. But I recognize that while this might not be a great deal for me, it could be a great deal for someone else. And I am not going to COMPLAIN because I am getting something for FREE. Quit thread-crapping and be a little more supportive of the developers.
Big ad words about FREE. one word for windows -
Then - all kinds of good words about this being great product for the pocket pc, fixing all the pocket-word problems and all.
I bet most people have a word processor on their desktop that is better desktop product than this.
And those people probably do see the shortcomings of pocket word and would like an improvement.
But this ad is so tricky that it backfires. I mean, what's so great about a free 30-day trial (on the piece that's really worthwhile) to go ga-ga over?????
I just got another email from SoftMaker and they extended the 50% off the total package (comes to $34.95) until April 15th. If anyone is still interested.
The odd thing is that the link they gave has the price at the end of it and you just change the price in the link and it changes the price on the page...this can not be a good way to make a link. :crooked: Doubt they would honor it anyway but still very bad way to do a link.
