Even the old 2.5.2 version looks good on my x50v with SE_VGA, definitely works in VGA mode even then ;)

I went to the ereader site and the books only come in 1 version. Can I assume that I can use the same ebook in either palm or pocketPC eReaders?

EReader books come in the .PDB format. This is the same format that Palm uses and they can be read by the eReader software for the PocketPC. You just have to be sure to download the correct eReader software. You want the one for PocketPC. After that the ebooks you get from eReader work great! Good Luck~

PS - The text in my version (2.6.1) looks great without any SE_VGA or anything. So far I am very happy with the software. (after I moved it out of Main Memory to a CF card) :)

PSS - If you didn't see it, you can get $5 off your first ebook by using the code NEWBE. I got Angels and Demons for $1.50! Nice option for testing it out with a real book. There are some books for less then $5 so they would be free. And I love free stuff!

Thanks for the info. I am going to try eBooks. I was hoping to be able to use the books for both palm and x50v.

You might also want to try the eReader Pro package that comes with 4 or 5 eBooks for $9.95. Nice features make it worthwhile, and decent set of books. (Not sure if the $5 NEWBIE code works on it)

Note: They do charge $9.95 for EACH version of the Pro eReader - Windows, MACS, PPC, etc. I've got the free on my desktop and Pro on the Axim, works great! :approve:

By the way, what about Mobipocket versions. Their files are in PRC?

OK so I have been using eReader for a little while now getting a feel for it. I moved it to my CF card and fixed the shortcuts so it works fine form there. What I haven't been able to figure out is now to keep the ebooks on my memory card. The program only seems to see them if they are in MainMemory, the PeanutPress folder to be more percise.

So my question is, has anyone found a way around this? I don't have a lot of books, but I could see it being a problem down the road. Does the pro version have any better options in this regard? Last, seeing as this was my first try at the eBook stuff I am looking for something to compaire it to now. I have Adobe reader and can't see myself being to happy reading a book on it. Works fine for the pdf files I have to have for work, but a whole book may just drive me mad. I am also not to excited to try the MS reader. Form the research I have done it seems like a pain. So, long story short, what else can someone recomend? Thanks~

I use the installer to put my e-books on the sd card. I believe the 3rd option is install e-book, once you select the book you want you can choose where to send it. It will create a peanut press folder on your card.

You can also just create a "Peanut Press" folder in the My Documents folder on your storage card, and eReader will see any books there automatically.

If you have an "ignore_my_docs" file on the root of your card, you need to delete it for this to work - just something to check if it's not working for you.

I didn't much care for Microsoft Reader so I just ordered eReader Pro for PocketPC based upon what I read here and elsewhere. I wnated the four free eBooks but realized after I paid and downloaded that there were two options for product selection: one with the free eBooks and one without. Now I am waiting for their support to get back top me.

Always read before you click :(.
