Ereader 2.6.1 - Now with VGA!!!

Ereader, a popular book-reading client, has just released Ereader version 2.6.1 which includes native VGA support. Rock on!! I've been using ubook for the longest time, because it was the only VGA supporting client. It won't be long before the other readers follow suit.

Other fun features (among others) include:
- Improved Bookshelf scrolling
- Updated libpng and zlib libraries to fix security issues
- Improved reference book performance
- Improved Setup program

The strange thing is: I cannot find it on eReader's website.

And: The readme says that the code to unlock the pro features can be found on the account page --- that's not the case.
And: There is not even a register menu item where one could enter a code.

So it seems that my eReader pro has become a eReader non-pro.

Or am I missing something?

How does one install this progam? I just get a dos box foe a second when I double click the executable file I downloaded for it.
(eReader Pro for PocketPC 2.6.1 (EN).exe) I can't even delete the program install file since my computer says its in use. I have not had any problems installing other programs on my x50v. Any ideas?

Does Ereader read all ebooks? I would love to find ONE reader that can read all formats. What all formats does Ereader read?

I have been looking for this as well and what I have learned so far is ~ no, there is no one reader that will do all. eReader does .PDB files and sells a ton of them on their site. Amazon has .PDF book (need Adobe reader) and .LIT books (need MS Reader).

So what I have figured out so far is to do one of the following~

1. Pick a reader and format you like and only get that kind

2. Download, install, and use several different readers

3. Use some of the conversion tools out there to try and convert them

Good Luck~

I have no expierence with any of them. Only that I did a SEARCH and found info on several sites talking about different programs that would convert some eBook formats to html or txt docs. Again I have never used any of them.

My suggestion - go with ubook. It can read files by putting them in the .zip file, and you know the .txt file will be around a while.. at least for now!

I couldn't get it downloaded kept getting errors
besides, all I got for the file name was ..... 17534

Fragulator so it's called "eReader Pro for PocketPC 2.6.1 (EN).exe" right ?

I have dialup so downloading without a download manager is out of the question.

Thanks it helped. They really exchanged the file. I downloaded from the same link and the contents of the zip file are different.

That's the penalty for upgrading immediately :o)

Thanks!

VGA? Really?

The program runs on my AximX50V, but the text looks pixelated. I do not think this program is VGA aware, other than when you install it it doesn't complain about "not being build for this version of windows mobile".

Are there any VGA readers with sharp looking text without the pixelation? I have a license for MobiPocket but it does not appear to be vga either.

You're using the old version. The VGA version is 2.6.1, and looks great on the X50v.
