Does anybody now why non-english speaking europe doesn't have a room upgrade yet? I phoned Dell today and they said the didn't have news about that update going o come in spanish.

I guess it can mess up a lot if I upgrade the spanish ROm with he English one. Or would it just change the languaje because that wouldn't be a problem for me...

Well I'd hold off. Its not like this is a required upgrade. Its best to wait until they offer it in other locals. There is no undo with a ROM upgrade. :crooked:

Has anyone installed this update? Is it worth the trouble?

I've installed it without difficulty. The key is to uninstall the d-pad patch if you have it and do a full backup of the system via ActiveSync. Take your time, be patient, and do it right. The process is similar to flashing a BIOS... just be careful. To answer your second question, it's a decent upgrade although not necessary. Read the documentation for a list of uptates and decide for yourself. Personally, I like the feature that allows me to activate/deactivate the d-pad button on the fly (just one of a few perks).

I did the upgrade last night and it went fine. The Axim is faster and a lot more responsive afterward. I didn't even know there was informations to do the upgrade I just went ahead and did it following the info. on Dell website. Follow the instruction closely and you will be fine. It now showed PXA 255 and perfomed as it should. I am happy with the upgrade. If you don't have the C1 I wouldn't bother to do the upgrade.

Well, I'll answer my own question. I did the update late this afternoon and all went well. Got nervous that I didn't turn off my screen saver (not sure if it would have been a problem) but just hit the mouse a few times while watching the Masters on the tube. Thanks to all that went before me in installing the update, certainly worth any hassle (weren't none) to be running the latest and greatest!

Question NEW UPGRADE

My Axim upgrade went well. I agree w/ tom61064 and notice that my Axim is running a little faster than before. The tutorial was a great help and thanks again AXIMSITE for your assistance.
I followed the upgrade instructions very carefully, but, the only problem that I encountered was losing all my Calender appts. Has anyone encountered the same problem? It's no problem adding all 100+ appts back on. I guess it is a even exchange for upgrading.

Worried This would help

Never mind. I guess it would help to SYNC first. I got all my appts back.

I appreciate the tutorial and FAQ posts. Upgrade went very smooth.

Basically, followed the tutorial step by step.

Final step was a soft reset and I was up and running.

It took about 1 hour.
