Question, if I do not get the upgrade, I damn sure will though, how do they put out new ROMs? Do they distribute one for 2k3 and one for 5? This confuses me. If it were a free upgrade then they would only need one OS to enhance on.
HP will offer Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrades for the HP iPAQ hx2100, hx2400, hx2700 and hx4700 series of handhelds. These software upgrades are expected to be available this summer and can be purchased directly from HP.
And a larger user base will mean that a lot of software manufacturers will now be getting to work on upgrading their ranges :approve:
IMHO, it will more probably be around $50 (more people use PPC, they raise prices... Go figure )

Im glad to pay 30$ for an upgrade! I just hope the whole thing doesnt turn into vaporware like it did when Asus renegged on thier promise of a 2003SE upgrade for the A716....
Nice, i knew moving from HP to Dell would have paid off, my hat's off for Dell for keeping the customer happy, i know I am!! :approve:
Hope HP has learned something from this, but I do hate to say it I hope Dell does not change their mind later down the road.
well I admit it.. I was expecting today to be a non-event... and then not to be able to upgrade anyway. But this is good news all round... now all i have to do is wait for the cd to go on sale

I would pay $35 for an upgrade without hearing reviews on bugs or if it even changes anything. $50 I would have to keep my eyes out to see if the upgrade is worth it. God forbid that I would need to put my parrot on my shoulder and wear an eye patch
In all honesty I'm pretty happy with the X50v right now. I guess I'll wait for the actual reviews of the update from Dell to see if it's worth upgrading.
