Virtual Pool 3 for the X50v

Those of us who have the X50v know that one of the biggest software items on the wish list is games that take advantage of the graphics accelerator. Well, hope shines on the horizon! Whilst searching for a decent front page post, I ran across this over at X50v.it and also discovered a thread started by fishwood had mentioned this item on Saturday. So here it is on the front page for all to see! You should note that the game is still in a beta version and I don't think there is a public download yet or a release date for the full version.

From the X50v.it web site:
"Unfortunately, there are still very few games on the market that take advantage of the X50v’s graphical accelerator.
Luckily, a new game will be released soon, which will be able to make full use of the X50v’s potential: Virtual Pool 3 per Dell x50v...

We have already reviewed the standard version of the software in the past (non-vga). This current version however, is clearly ONLY playable on the X50v, because of the technology it uses.

The game is a pool simulator, with excellent graphics, developed by Celeris.software house"

There are lots more screenshots and info over at their web site, just click here to check them out.

The X50v version is not available yet - that is the regular PPC version. This is a fantastic game and I've been waiting for them to release it for the Axim - can't wait!!!

I bought this game more than a year ago (the non-accelerated version of course) and I still play it at least once a week!

Can't wait for the X50v version.

I too am still using the one I bought over a year ago and it runs like a champ! I'm not sure I'll be shelling out more money for no reason.

I've played the demo for the old version many times and would have bought it if it was VGA. I'll probably buy this - anyone know when it might be out?

I liked the first version of Virtual Pool that Celeris put out for PocketPC, but never did buy the full version of it.... just played the demo. I don't play that many games on my Axim anymore, but this would definitely be one to take up some time on a long plane ride. :)
