Innobec's SideWindow

My Axim's a pretty useful device, but when it's actually on the cradle it seems so useless! And that's were Innobec's nifty "SideWindow" comes along..

The expensive desk ornament that used to be your cradled PDA can now serve a useful purpose. SideWindow transforms your PDA into a virtual desktop extension, allowing you to drag applications such as your favorite picture viewer, media player and instant messaging applications to your PDA while freeing your main display's real estate for something more useful.

Is that slick or what? It's like a dual-monitor set-up without the dual video cards! It's said to work on both low and high-res displays.

This is definitely falls into the "because we can" category.

Oooh found a bug

I've tried the program and first i got the popup "Installation Failure". I found out it had something to do with the "Enhanced GAPI" tweak by picard. The driver has to be set to "Original Driver", otherwise (with the "Enhanced Driver" option selected) it won't work.

Very sweet, I am using it a bunch at work. I can start a SQL query, move it over to my PPC and do other work. Then, when I see it has returned results I move it back to my desktop screen and review the data returned.

Nice little app, I will be buying it shortly!

I had that... have changed the driver back to default. but still have the error.

Is it supposed to install something on your axim?

I love the sales pitch for this software at PocketGear:

Quote:
Be the coolest guy around.
* Woo your boss!
* Make your co-workers drool with envy!
* Be the talk of the day at the water cooler!
* Become the office stud and impress women!
I wonder if they'll back up those claims with a guarantee? :p

Oh my gosh!!! That is so cool...not all that useful...but dang fun!!

Now, anyone figure out how to tell it which side of the monitor your PPC is on? I would like to have it on the left.

OK, I am just having way too much fun with such a simple program. I have spent all morning doing things around the apartment and using this to control my music. I dragged over itunes and put the controls in the window so I can change songs, playlists, and volume at will.

I like the fact that even though I don't have WM03 SE I can still set this to use landscape mode. Makes it easier to select the individual songs.
