Like MerlinAZ said, updates are free during the year after purchase. When you upgrade from 2003 to 2005 you need to re-register to get a new registration code, tha's all.

Upgrades are free for a year. However if u are running 2003, you need to go to their webpage and get a new code to register 2005.

At first I was reluctant too, but Resco takes up a heck of a lot less memory. It really depends on what you want. If you're willing to sacrifice the tabs, large icons, and drag and drop functionality, it's really not so bad.

I decided I would give Resco a week and see how I like it.
Forkyfork, can you please let me know how your week with Resco goes? If Resco plugin does the basics and uses less memory I might give up Spb Pocket Plus. Thanks.

So far, I like it. I still have Pocket Plus installed (because I like the PocketIe and batterybar attachments).. but resco sure is a lot less memory heavy. If you do a search you'll find a chart that Meinesyss made.

The only problem is there's a few small things I will miss from SPB. The changing of the icons, the drag and drop, the tabs, the function buttons, and the changing icons. But.. they are all little things.

Even though my x50 has a lot of RAM, I try to conserve it. This is the same reason I eventually got rid of Wisbar (that AND it had a bit of a delay).

I appreciate the input. I found Meinesyys's article and it was very helpful. I'm going to give Resco's Today plug-in a shot without Pocket Plus and see how it goes. In order to save RAM, I'll try anything :) Thanks.

I remember the first time I installed SPB and thought to myself, "what is the godawful bar at the top? And how do I get it off?!!!"

And now I can't live without it :)

The bar at the top of the Today screen is also offered in iLauncher.

Yes. It's actually "prettier" in Ilauncher.

But overall I was honestly disappointed with Ilauncher. I still preferred SPB.

With the latest version also? I tried them all at the beginning. Now I have kept only what I like. I guess it is the same for everyone.

I really did like Spb PocketPlus. But it no longer has a place in my PDA because WisBar Advance Desktop is so much more useful and efficient. I did not test recent iLauncher versions but given that is does not seem to add anything over PocketPlus I'd say that WisBar Advance Desktop makes it obsolete as well.

WA 2 is nice.. but I found that it was slowing my system down (if not run at 624mhz).. takes way too much resources.

I agree.

I found a similar program - SmallMenu that pretty much did the same things, just didn't "look" as pretty.

Actually, I really just like the simplicity of the default start menu bar.
