Electronic address book that syncs?

My wife would like to convert from her paper address book to something electronic. I know my options if I get her a smartphone but what about something that's not a phone and not a full blown PDA, i.e. just an electronic address book that can be sync'd with Outlook, Google, etc. Does this exist? I'm doing my own web search but figured the good folks here would have some advice. TIA!

Paul

Well, there is always an iPod Nano/Classic/Touch . . . I hear that they are decent music players to boot!

(The Touch has a nice address book interface, but the clickwheel iPods are a bit clunky.)

I agree. The ipod touch has a really good address book. But so does an older(and cheaper) used Axim

Added note: portable apps on a flash drive would also work. Only hold back would be having a host PC to plug into.

...interesting. I know about the Touch's capabilities but didn't know iPods had address capabilites. I'll have to look into this. Thanks!

Any other ideas out there?

Just get her a Sharp organizer - it's cheap and it syncs with Outlook:

Sure, but by his description, it sounds like all his wife wants is an electronic organizer that interfaces with Outlook. If that's all she wants, the Sharp does the job. If I were getting someone an entry level electronic "organizer," I'd probably get a used entry level pocket pc like the IPAQ h1945 or the IPAQ rx1950.
