If you bought DRM Protected iTunes from apple the only truly portable thing that will play them is an iPod (I'm not counting laptops).
If you ripped your own files with iTunes and did not apply any DRM to those files you can play them with iPlay from 40th Floor or some of the older versions of TCPMP.

well what i'm basically asking is if there's a way for me to put the axim in the dock, load up itunes, and then just drag the files i want into "Majd's Axim" or something...just like an ipod.
i would like this because i have an ipod and having one gateway to get my music to my devices would be great.
thanks for the help

The only thing that comes close to iTunes and an iPod would be using WMP10 and your Axim. You can sync music that way. I use http://www.hymn-project.org/ to convert my DRM iTunes and then sync them with WMP10. Kind of silly that I have two programs loaded with music, but each just uses the same music files. Not like I have two copies of everything. Check it out. Good Luck~

I have never used the yahoo deal, but I have seen people post around here that it does work. From what I understand if you ever stop paying the $5 your music quits working. For me that is why I never tried it. I prefer to own the music. But if you don't have any DRM stuff, then I would just use Windows Media Player and sync that way. Good Luck~

I've been using Musicmatch Jukebox for my rips mostly but I'm finding their CD database lacking.
Make sure any file protection or Digital Rights Management is unchecked in your iTunes ripper and you shouldn't have any trouble with playback on your Ax.

Well, I might as well add my method to my music madness. [Say that 5 times fast]. I download music and then burn it to a CD-R for car use. My iPod generally just collects dust as the battery life blows. iTunes softare for the PC is pathetic.
Look people he is trying to put DRM iTunes on his Axim and wants to know if there is a way (with some kind of 3rd party software or something) to put "purchased and downloaded iTunes" songs on his Axim. This isn't that hard to understand. I wish I had an answer but I don't really listen to mp3's and stuff.

The only reason I still have my home PC is to sync my PDA. Otherwise what good is it for? I give it 10 years at most and the home PC will be replaced with the Pocket PC.
Axim x50v
Sena case for Axim x50v
Sandisk 1GB SD Card
Kingston 1GB SD Card
Kingston 1GB CF Card
Over 2.5GB of Pocket PC Software and never paid a dime (get friends and family to by them for me... SUCKERS! To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. )

Actually that is not the question. As you can see from this quote ~

If that was the question however, the hymn project was the answer.
Instead, they are more or less looking for a music management software. More precisely if iTunes will recognize the Axim and allow for drag and drop management.
So your right, it isn't that hard to understand as the rest of us already got it. Thanks~ :approve:

The only thing that works like Itunes with Ipod for the Axim is WMP10 with the Axim which actually works quite well using the sync feature....
everyone raves about itunes, but in reality, WMP10 is much more diverse and adaptable, plus is rock solid...i only use itunes now since i have an ipod...and i have an ipod since after major comparisons and trials, it worked the best for a large HDD music device :)
There are plenty of programs that will assist in syncing iTunes to regular MP3 players, since most mount as a removable drive. Most will sync certain playlists, though if you want the whole library, and if you're cheap, you can probably get a free backup tool that will sync your whole iTunes file tree to your external card. Each time you add songs, just run an incremental backup to your card.
I personally use Missing Sync (for OS X), but I googled and found this
