Yahoo Music Increasing Subscription Music Charges

This morning I just received the following message from Yahoo! Music:

"On November 1, 2005, the cost of transferring and playing subscription music on a portable digital music player will increase from $4.99 to $9.99 per month for an annual subscription ($119.88 billed annually) and from $6.99 to $11.99 per month for a monthly subscription."

I know that many of us here at Aximsite enjoy using our Axims with Yahoo's music service and wanted to make everyone aware. If you want to enjoy the $4.99 for at least one more year, you may consider getting the yearly subscription prior to October 31st for only $59.88.

Yes, that's probably from the music industry raising their rates. Apple iTunes will have to raise theirs from .99 to 1.29 U.S. in January so they say. I guess the music company's just wants everyone to return back to the old Napster days and get back on the P2P apps...They will never learn...Greedy bastards :realmad:

That is exactly what they are doing. This last year there was uge surge in legal music sales. I would've thought the music indutry would have been delighted to see people getting music legally again. Oh well. Welcome back Napster.

I cancelled my Yahoo! Music and I told them why. They will not use strong arm tactics to make me purchase a 1-year subscription.
