Real Player - Please Help~!!!
I have video clip that are in real player format that i would like to watch on my X50. I download the pre-release version of real player for Pocket PC on the real website. When I transfer files from my computer to the PDA, it takes a long time and finally at the end, I only gets sound, no video image.
Can someone please help and let me know what I need to do??
Thank you~!!

is it .rmvb?
if so, you're out of luck at all
if it's .3gp, play with tcpmp

TCPMP - The Core Pocket Media Player is the best one I found for all Audio and Video files. Excellent program, and it's free (although they suggest a donation due to the open development)!!

Looks like the bitrate is too high for the player.
You better keep the bitrate under 250.

your best bet is to download the Helix source for WinCE and build one yourself

I installed all video and audio files via a cheapie USB card reader/writer, thereby bypassing all of the 'conversion' issues and the long transfer. Then placed the card back in the Axim and the various players (Pocket TV, WMP and Real) found the files with no difficulty.
Certainly the points about bitrate and file type apply and yet another player might work....

You can use a program called RealProducer plus to change the bitrate but its just waste of time to do that because the quality wont be good. I suggest you to use program like eovideo/winavi/Winmenc to convert rm/rmvb file to avi then you can use tcpmp to play it.
I highly recommend the winmenc becasue its free, fast and great in quality.

If you want to play rmvb with the ppc realplayer, you can change the rmvb extension to rm. The problem is that it won't play properly if the bitrate is too high (above 250).

I am also seeking a conversion package for Real to a format playable by TCPMP. Free is ideal. The Winmenc link appears to be all in Asian...any other packages or a English version Winmenc?
Real format is not great, but there's a lot of stuff on it...especially lectures that I need to watch. Thanks.

I use a bit rate of 528 for my .avi files. They play beautifully on TCPMP and I get very reasonable file sizes - about 350 MB for a 70 minute clip. :approve:

You can edit winmenc.ini for more options
Use the batch tab if you want to convert more than 1 file
and make sure you choose "Batch" Under Encoder Mode
If the program slow down your computer, you can lower the priority setting but it'll take longer to convert the files.

asking4it - thanks for taking the time to outline the files needed. It works great! The divx files are larger but they run well!
