Playing divX on axim51v without converting?

Window media player 10 does seem to be able to read it (avi files). Do I need a divx encoder? If so, how can I install divx inside?

I tried installing pocket MPV but the only thing installed is vp3_ppc.dll under Program Files\PocketMVP. Is it not compatable with Window mobile 5?

thx

edit: I dont want to further convert an avi file. I just want to install something inside my axim, and play the avi file right off the bat.

edit: problem solved. Thx.

TCPMP requires you to convert the movies from your PC and then transfer them to your Axim does it? I can already do that with winavi 7.0 (winavi converts stuff to asf files). I'm looking for a lazy way to not convert anything at all. (And the download link for pocketdivx player leads to a spanish site which I cannot read a word) =(

tcpmp plays the files... how you encode them is up to you. plays most formats and its free.

Yeah, TCPMP is a player not a converter. The Core Pocket Media Player.

But if you lack space, put the videos on a shared drive, leave your computer on and connect to the shared folder using Resco Explorer. Tap on the file and TCPMP will play the file through your wireless network!

Or you could put the files on a nice 2gig sd card. But I like your idea.

I don't mind change as long as I'm not around when it happens.
