Watching movies

I have an Axim x50v. I was wondering how I can view .avi movie files on it. I tranferred the .avi file to my sd card which I use for the Axim. Is there a freeware that I can download so that I can either convert my .avi file or so that I can download on my Axim and be able to watch the .avi files. Whats the easiest, quickest and preferrablly free way to do this? Thanks for the help.

TCMP to view the files link is under View MyPDA...

Fair use free version works great and can be customized for your preferances. again the link is under View MyPDA.

These are free programs, and if you use the search function of the site you will find alot of info regarinding them and how to use them.

Good luck...and Welcome to the site! :approve:

Welcome to Aximsite!

You can watch your movies using TCPMP, which is freeware.

Moved to Multimedia.

EDIT: Should have just typed..."ditto"...hehe

Download TCPMP here: http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/download

tcpmp.setup.[version].exe - if you want to install using ActiveSync.

or

tcpmp.arm.cabs.[version].zip -if you want to copy that file directly to your device and install it from there. (You must unzip the CAB file on your desktop before moving over to your device.)

Wow, I'm too slow

Do you have Beta Player? I consider it one of the best apps for watching movies on. You should be able to download it at
A great application for converting video is Auto Gordian Knot or AutoGK this is a also a free application. You can find it at-

Movies + PPT

Can anyone please help me out.

1) Gone to download the TCPMP file. The automatic download does not work for me as I am on a resticted company PC.... - Anyway - I can download the whole programme to the X50V via Activesync - no worries, but then what do I need to do to open it up.... as it comes up as not a vaild PPC program...

2) PDF's and Microsoft Powerpoint presentations? Is there software available so that I can view these sorts of files on my X50V?

Thanks.

There are two ways to install programs to your Axim, TCPMP included. One is through ActiveSync using a regular .exe file that runs form your desktop. The other is a .cab file that runs on your Axim. Think of a .cab file as the same as a .exe file for your desktop. So as the previous post said, if you want to go the cab route you have to unzip it form the .zip download first. Then copy it over to your Axim. Then find it and tap it to install. Or use CabInstall.

As for the PP stuff, there is software out there that will do this. Do a search and you sould find some good info. Or search on PocketGear.com or somewhere. Good Luck~

the files are in zip format you have to unzip the cab file and install it to your axim through memory card or active sync ther may be some ppc apps that will unzip it for you else you need a pc to unzip it

TCPMP Files

Thanks for the advice - a great help, but I am a real novice at this and have become stuck.

Have selected the file, have downloaded it, have unzipped the correct version for the Axim (tcpmp.arm_ce3.cab) and have synced it to the Axim. All the folders are now sitting there but I cannot do anything with any of the files.

Any idea what i am missing here??
Thanks.

all you need to do is to move the cab file over to your PPC, locate the file with your PPC file explorer and tap on it. it'll then install on your PPC. if you wish to install it to a specific folder then download a freeware called cabinstl.
