TCPMP no video

I have a X51v with WM5 if that makes a difference. I have some video clips that I had downloaded and transfered to my Axim and have played using Windows Media. I just downloaded and installed TCPMP since I have read so many good things about it.

When I open these videos I can hear the audio but there is no video on the screen. On my desktop computer these clips have a .mpeg extension. From within TCPMP it is being listed as a .wmv file.

I have looked around in the menus and settings but don't see anything. Anyone have any pointers? Thanks

Maybe the files were converted to windows media when you transfered them to the PDA

I was just continuing with my testing. I copied the .mpeg file directly over and then TCPMP played it properly. So will TCPMP not play windows media files? And will windows media only play files that you sync from the desktop using media player sync? I can't seem to browse and find the .mpeg file I just transfered using Windows Media.

New to this and just trying to define what the different programs do and how best to use them.

Just donīt use WM again! TCPMP is the best! Download Divx and install it.

Among the great upīs that TCPMP has over WM is the ability to manage in a much more efficient way your playlists!

Good luck

I just googled Divx, hadn't heard of that one. Am I right in assuming this is installed on a computer to play movies and isn't used on a PPC?

Open TCPMP. Click on Options > Video and switch from Intel 2700g Decoder to Raw Framebuffer to play wmv movies.

Thanks, that worked to play the wmv movies. Any other setup tips or usability things anyone has to suggest?

Here's one

The fast forward button can be turned into super slow-motion by clicking on Options > Settings > Select page > Player and changing the Fast forward speed to 30 or less. With a file stored on a card the playback is better than most DVD players.
