Worried Can you stream video from ur desktop pc over a home wifi network?

I'd just like to know if you can you stream video from ur desktop pc over a home wifi network? I can't find anything on google or whatnot so im asking the people that own them and probably have done it themselves. I'm hoping ill be able to stream all my south park eps to my pocket pc and probably then to my TV, since i dont want any trailing cables from my computer to tv... thanks in advance!

Actually, you can - I've used TCPMP and VMNetBrowser to stream videos over my network. I guess you could use any network broswer that lets you access windows file shares - then just play the file with TCPMP :-)

Streaming it to your TV? No idea there...

How exactly do yo do that? I mean to say where do you get those programs and what was your set up like share folders on win XP then browse the LAN with that browser you said? Please explain, thanks!

Sure you can. Fire up the wifi on your x50, connect, map the drive (Resco File Explorer)have an app that will play your file type (I use TCPMP). Tap the file and it should play in the player. Been doing this with mpg's for while.

You'll need some VGA to composite video adapter (in addition to the VGA output cable) to get it to your TV.

Something like this:

I use VLC media player from "The videoLAN Team" http://www.videolan.org/ on my PC to broadcast video, music or audio books onto my network. Multiple clients can access the broadcast at the same time. Read their tutorial and come back with questions.

Best Wishes

you gotta open file explorer in windows and right click the folder or file you want to share and select "properties"... then click "sharing" tab and then click "share this folder on the network"

after that you can access it from your pocket pc via the wifi if its connected to ur pc via wifi and so on...

ur pc ought to have a network name... the address at which folder "X" is located on computer named "ABC" goes like this ... \\ABC\X\

and then you can view that folder's contents in the file explorer viewer on the PDA... u cant open files from there so when ur in TCPMP , tell it to go to "\\ABC\X" or watever dir u named it and it will go there and u can open all the files from TCPMP over wifi that are stored on your hard drive

another neat thing to do is u can do this with other prgorams like emulators and the scummvm

Resco File Explorer makes networking alot easier and you can run almost any video from the network using TCPMP, WMP, VLC, or any of the media players out there for PPC

I'd love to have Tyshow working on my x51v. It's a directshow filter for playing tivo files. I know nothing about programing but if this was compiled/made for the axim I'd be able to stream tv shows off my tivo...

I cannot get my mp3's to play through wifi at normal speed. I'm using TCPMP. I've adjusted the settings in the player but no luck. Any ideas?
