This was my primary concern too. I'm not a 100% audiophile, but I like my music and I have pretty sensative ears.

The quality is surprisingly good. I think that there might be a little bit more of the very high frequency compression artifacts in loud portions of the music than normal, but not enough to make me wince. I listen to my mp3s on a decent pair of Koss earbuds, and I can't hear much (if any) degradation in overall quality. Granted, my Koss's aren't e5cs or anything... but they get the job done. :)

My only guess about how they did this was that they were aware that this could be a problem and took step to prevent it. I know that through DSP, it is possible to sort of 'acoustically uncompress' mp3s... perhaps TuneBite runs an algorithm like that before the signal hits the mp3 compression portion of the program.

However they do it, I was pleased with the results.

That would be illegal. Completely untracable and undetectable... but definitely illegal. :hide:

Basically, anything that you can play through iTunes can be dubbed at 2x and anything you can play through Windows Media Player can be dubbed at 4x.

Brilliant program. Thanks for pointing it out! I was looking for something like this as I have a bunch of songs from iTunes that I wanted to use on my Ax.

Just looking at buys music on-line, versus from CDs.
One site I looked at identifies what you can do with the music you buy. It seems to be a song by song thing, but it is probably based on what the site gets from the producers.
Mostly, you download to one PC.
The album I was looking at allowed you to burn 3 CDs, and copy to an unlimited number of portable devices (I think that is ones you own, I didn't read the fine print).

I'm really looking for a good price on CDs.
I'm planning in finding out what online prices are, and compare to a local used CD store.

I am not sure if this thread relates to your problem or not but take a look and see what you think.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll be gone all day.

Go get the CDs from you local Public Library and copy them. Then send a thankyou letter to the RIAA because since they closed Napster the quality of your mp3 files has increased.

Or if your a total spineless wiener pay a buck for each download from a subscibed site, once per device and get over it. Oh, you did a hard reset, well its only a buck.
