I know this really doesnt pretain to the Axim boards but you guys know a lot about encoding and what not so can you help me out here?

I have to make a slide show(using director) for school and i need a video clip... Cant find any to download on the internet for my subject so im recording it from my vcr and send it over to my pc.

Now when i get it on my pc is there any kind of a Quicktime Encoder. The only video program at school is Quicktime..(Because we have sucky mac computers)

So are there any good encoders out there?
