How the Hell Do You Mute Windows Media Encoder!?

Ugh, I've been pulling my hair out over this one.

I used to have a windows media encoder broadcasting a television feed from my video capture card so I could put the Axim in the cradle and have it receive the video+audio tv feed while I played games on my PC.

Now I can't for the life of me figure out how the hell I turned off the television sound on my PC speakers! I look at the mixer and all I see is 'mute' for the analog line-in source, but muting that kills the sound for the feed too! I can mute the entire system volume but then I can't hear sound from the game!

I feel like an idiot cuz I used to know how to do this but now I can't and I did a ton of web searches that turned up nothing on this.

Thanks for any help

You have to mute the Line In playback volume not its recording volume, check Options->Properties and ensure volume adjustment is set to playback and that the Line In volume control is turned on.

Blah, I finally figured it out. In the 'audio' window click on 'Mixer'. This brings up your windows volume control app, but it's for "recording control". Under the 'Analog Mix' slider click on 'Advanced', at the bottom you'll see a checkbox for 'Record without Monitoring'. Click it and you will now broadcast an encoded tv stream without hearing it or seeing it on your pc (if you don't want to, which I don't).

Now you can get back to working in full screen mode on your pc, or playing fullscreen games, all the while your pocket pc in the cradle acts just like a little tv. It's very nice. I should write an article or something about this.
