Transferring Tivo Shows via WMP 10

I am able to watch tivotogo shows on my PC using WMP10, but I cannot sync shows to my PDA (Dell Axim X30H). I have run the Windows XP Video Decoder Check-up Utility and, apparently, I do not have a codec that is compatible with the sync feature of WMP 10. Four codecs show up when I run the XP decoder utility: Ligos MPEG Video Decoder, Sonic Cinemaster, Nero MPEG Video Decoder, and ULead MPEG Video Decoder.

I have read that deleting some or all of these codecs and then installing a compatible codec will resolve my problems. Do I need to delete all of the codecs? More importantly -- is anyone aware of a free codec which allow for WMP10 to sync to a PDA? If not, which is the best/cheapest codec which will permit sync?

Thanks much for your thoughts. :)

There are no free, 100% compatible MPEG2 Directshow filters but you can download a trial version of WinDVD from InterVideo and use that, it's WMP10 compatible, MCE compatible and will continue to work after the main application's trial period has expired. It shouldn't be necessary to remove any of the other filters as WinDVD should set it's decoder to preferred.

Okay, thanks... I will give it a try.

WMP10 on the pc will play the .tivo files but WMP on a mobile device will not? Is this what you are saying? Has anyone with an x51v or WM5 tried tivo files on the device?

What OddBOd said. That's what I did. Works great.
