X51v Full Screen Video Problems

Why do movies in full screen mode on my Axim X51v look crappy? Get an eye strain just looking at it. Is there anything I can do to correct this problem? Please advice.

Which file format do you rip your DVD movies in? If you're not ripping your own blame whoever ripped them in the first place.

I believe that is the fault of the LCD screen. When you rotate the axim sideways, the viewing angle causes black inversion, which can be hard on the eyes.. theres not much one can do about it though.

I've never had any problems I think they look great and I usually rotate the video in TCPMP

I have that problem, too: in landscape mode, black seems "translucid" (not easy to describe...) and it gives me headache and some annoyance to my eyes (in particular to the left one).

I read several thread of people having problems with the Axim viewing angle, expecially in landscape mode). Someone send the PDA back for a substitution, someone else opened the device and removed some "filter" between the LCD screens... but I never read a reply AFTER that.

Could really Dell change an Axim 'cause of this kind of problem? Could another machine be better than mine or the difference is in the "eyes" more than in the screen??

Who knows......

I believe the reason that it looks a little off or funny while in landscape, is that the LCD is divided into two regions. When it's in landscape, it looks different because your eyes are adjusting to these two regions. There is a thread somewhere on aximsite that describes what you are seeing..

You cannot look at the screen head on. If you slightly tilt the screen to the left, you can view without any blackness.
