WM "searching for skins"

When I open up Windows Media Player, it gets stuck in the options screen and says, "Searching for Skins".

In addition, when I try to open an mp3 off my internal memory or SD card, it says the file is corrupt, which it isn't.

Finally, I have no clue if I have version 9 or 10. How can I tell?

Thanks for any help! I'm away from my sync cradle, so I can't do anything like that right now, but any ideas?

It would be helpful if you tell us what Axim model you have and the OS?

Axim x30 624mhz. ROM is A06.

OS is WM2003 SE version 4.21.1088.
