Trouble installing TCPMP

I downloaded the TCPMP setup file and run it. An "ADD/REMOVE" programs comes up and says to select a program (TCPMP) from the list below. The dialog box says "If the program you installed is not on the list below, the program is not designed for your mobile device."

I am not sure how to fix this. I have a DVD in .avi format and WMP10 will not play it. Thanks.

Download this zip file and move the proper can file to your ppc. Install from there. :)

Which file did you install? Did you get Windows Mobile (choose "arm") version from here:

Yes, I downloaded the setup file version 0.71

http://corecodec.org/frs/download.ph...setup.0.71.exe

That is the link to the download page, if you click on the link, just hit cancel for the download of the file.

Try installing the CAB file instead of the desktop EXE.

OK...Keep in mind I am an Axim newb...

I downloaded the CAB "ARM" file to my desktop and unzip it. There are several other files I need to unzip. Then it says, "my system is not configured to view these files." Do I have to put the CAB file in the programs of the X51V, and then install?

If you downloaded tcpmp.arm.cabs.0.71.zip, there should be 4 different CAB files plus a Readme inside when you unzip the folder. Copy the file called tcpmp.arm_ce3.CAB onto your device and tap on it to install it directly on your device.

You may need to use Cab Install to install it - I run TCPMP (I have it in a TCPMP Folder on the SD card) off my storage card just create a Cab Install folder on either your PPC or its storage card (wherever you prefer)and copy the contents of the zip file attached to this post to it, open it and tap on the file cabinstl_en.exe and this will activate it. You then search through CabInstall's explorer interface for your TCPMP folder and open it, then highlight the .cab file and tap "OK" and then select your installation location - I usually leave it at default and hit install and the job's done.

Hope this helps
Attached Files:
File Type: zip cabinstl 1.04.zip (36.0 KB, 15 views)

yup. use cabinstall to install it. One great thing I miss about WM5, after rolling back, is that you can pick where to install cabs.

Thank you very much. That worked perfectly. Wouldn't be able to do much without this site. :)
