WM 10 Radio streaming

Having looked through a few posts I guess my question may have popped a few times already, but can anyone please tell me exactly how you can you WM10 on wifi to listen to an internet radio stream - each time I try pasting in the URL (which works on my desktop) I get nowhere! Thanks in advance :)

The easiest way is to search for Internet radio stations, tap on the link and WMP will open up to play the stream. Note that WMP will only play Windows Media formats. You may want to install Gsplayer or TCPMP for more streaming formats. Here's a site that will help you get started:

http://www.radioshowlinks.com/mdisplay.aspx

Moved to Multimedia.

When you are connected to wifi, yes you can stream radio. The url you copy should start with http:// and end in .asx. For example this is a streaming radio station that works in pocket wmp10. If you can get this url http://www.1096qw.com/asx/theborder.asx to work in it, than nothing is wrong with your ppc or wmp10.

Thanks for the quick reply. I got the border to work great - the problem I am having is to listen to the stream from www.lgr.co.uk I usually type http://62.25.96.7:8025/ into my desktop URL on WM10. Any ideas how I change this into a asx format please?

Your site says that it's a Shoutcast stream, which means it will not work under WMP. Try
Gsplayer instead.

Thanks - Shame that it won't work on my PDA WM10. Out of interest how can you tell from the lgr website that it's a shoutcast stream?

Whilst I've not tried GSPlayer, I certainly recommend TCPMP ( http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/download ) for the playing of London Greek Radio's SHOUTcast stream.

On some PC configurations, clicking on http://62.25.96.7:8025/ in your web browser will take you to the SHOUTcast server page.

Happy Camper!

:approve: Many thanks for all the advice, especially the GS Player. I am listening away perfectly well now - no thanks to WM10 however! :)

Indeed, Canadian sports fans will know why I'm frustrated at not being able to listen to the team 1200 on my X51v. Please help, NHL radio works though. When I go to www.team1200.com it doesn't load.
I've also had no luck with cfra.com
