Skins for Beta Player

I just installed the latest version (.71)of Beta Player and can't figure out how to add skins. Where do I find skins and what are the plug-ins or updates that the site mentions? Thanks for your time.

TCPMP does not support skinning yet. From what I have read at Corecodec.com they are planning to release version 1.0 in the near future and that capability will probably be included.

The plugins add the capability to play video and audio formats other than included in the main program. Picard has also released an experimental plugin to play AVC encoded files.

Check out the lastest test release with plugins at:
http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/

This page also includes a sort of bare bones player for a windows PC.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll just have to wait for 1.0. Thanks again.

Nice. TCPMP is really good software, but it will be even better if you can skin it. Hopefully that won't degrade the quality of the program though.

AFAIK .m3u is not a video format, it is a playlist file extension.

The latest test version of TCPMP with the "experimental" AVC plugin plays ipod videos quite well. I previously posted the URL to the latest test version and plugins.

Sorry, I meant .m4v
I'll try the latest as you suggested. BTW what is AVC?

Advanced Video Coding. Otherwise known as H.264. I think that the IPOD video specifications call for encoding in H.264. It is supposed to give more quality in a smaller file size than what we are used to using Divx or Xvid.

Thx glb! I install the 71d version and AVC plugins. It works wonderfully!
Do you have any recommendations for encoder tool in this H.264 format?

well, hopefuly, he'll release a good old TCPMP version which looks the same but has super skin support and GUI customizability.... I think i'm already wishing for too much.
