I am using XP and have plenty of free space. What other free encoders do you recommend?

Auto Gordian Knot! It works great with different choices for audio and its easy to use.

How do you use Auto Gordian Knot. I tried it an it opened up VirtualDub to encode the DVD. I took over 10 hours to encode 30 minutes of a recorded tv show.

Can I use something else? Will Auto Gordian Knot automatically open it to encode or do I have to delete Virtual Dub?

Fairuse Wizard. One program to rip and encode. You decide the file output size. I'm running it right now, and it's free. :)

I use FairUse for encoding an entire DVD movie. I tried it for a DVD recorded from television and I went through the beginning process. When I had to chose the file to encode (select movie file) the box was blank.
