Question DVD to avi, is divx 5.0.5 okay?

Hi,
Was following fibrizo's great instructions and found that I have the divx codec 5.0.5 instead of the 5.0.3 that is specified in the instructions.

Is it okay to encode with this one? Will I be able to convert it for use on the Axim?

Thanks,
Gabe

I have converted atleast 6 movies and I have been using divx 5.05 codec. What I found "messed" me up was
1. had to use card reader to copy file and not copy file via the axim cradle
2. always check "run this batch job later'
3. read the instructions carefully

I also test the file while in my reader by double clicking on it. Windows Media Player (on the desktop) will open it and play it.

Works fine for me too using fibrizos guide. I only use 32bit/22Khz mono audio and 250kbps video and don't get any dropped frames. I use direct stream copy on the audio tab on the first pass and then convert the audio on the second pass. Saves a little time.

Chemcat, save yourself even more time by selecting no audio on the first pass. The guide is setup to have the minimal amount of confusing changes as possible so you can get an encode running. after that you can make more advance changes.
