streaming audio
is it possible to listen to live (streaming?- forgive my total non technical descrition) webcast from local radio station web site on my axim 50v; went to site and pressed "listen live" and nothing happened

Yes it is possible, and its great to use. Get the .asx file from the radio site you want to listen to. For example, asx file of canadain roxk station .asx here If you cant get the .asx file tell me the site you are trying to get the streaming audio from and ill see if i can get it to work on my axim and give u the address, if it works.

It sure is, but what will work will depend on what format it takes. For example, if it's ASX, it will work on Windows Media Player, but if it is PLS, then you will require GSPlayer. Take a look at some Internet radio sites to get you started:

I use ORB for streaming audio and video it works on your windows pc, and allows you to listen to your personal music anywere with internet.

You might have to view the source code of the page that features the "listen now" link and find the exact address. I have had to do that, and promptly save the particular link as a playlist on the Axim. Using TCPMP.
