DVD Catalyst Question
Hey guys, downloaded the trial version of this software and I must say, what a great thing! I have already downloaded some movies to my SD card for viewing on my next trip. My question is, does it normally take a while to convert the DVD's? I'm getting around 175 to 250 MB movies and it seems to take 2 to 3 hours to convert them. I'm running them on a fast mode with 15 FPS. Is this normal or is the DVD rom in my lap top slow?
Thanks guys. | |||

It is a mixture of specifications that make DVD converting slow or fast, your processor speed is a big one, the faster the processor, the quicker the film will be converted. You have to remember that 175Mb is a huge compression from 4 to 8Gb of film data.

That time seems decent especially for the compression you are looking to get. I run about the same times (give or take) on a single pass through DVD Catalyst.
