It's not 1000kb, it's 1000ms. It's capped because this is the decoded buffer. I.e., if the buffer is at maximum, it takes a second until changes to the relative volume or equalizer become active. The current routines don't implement any buffering of the undecoded audio file at all.

I have the latest beta 3.31b30 on my x51v and its a bit buggy. I have it set to turn off the screen after 30 seconds of inactivity. I use the power button to turn my Ax back on and do stuff. When I switch back into Mort, whatever on screen soft button I press turns my screen off again.

I've got a problem with the MortPlayer (last beta version). It's crushed every time I press on/off button while playing.

Mort:

What exactly is the benefit of the pre-buffer for microdrives? With the skip time shortened like it is now, I'm not sure I understand what the purpose of the buffer is.

It's got nothing to do with skip times (in fact, it slightly increases it). The prebuffer reads the given amout of data into the memory while another thread plays what's already there. When the buffer is full, it plays completely from memory, allowing the microdrive to enter the energy saving mode. When the prefetched buffer is about to end, the prefetching starts again until the buffer is filled once more (or end of file is reached).
Or to put it short: It gathers the access to the microdrive to short durations and uses the buffer in-between.

btw: there's b32 already. It contains just some bugfixes, no new features.

Why exactly yours aren't played, I don't know. Maybe it's an encoding variation that isn't supported...

I have been using Audacity and I haven't seen any parameters to set when it exports the pieces to an ogg file. Any ideas? I presume that I do not have to set anything in Mortplayer? thanks

First of all: Mort, you're mean.
I used Mort player a while now, and for a short while I've been using it simulatneously with MortButtons. The only problem was: if the screen was turned off, and I pressed a hardbutton (with MortButtons assigned) the screen went on and showed MortButtons and didn't went of even if I put the button in MortPlayer to locked (Gesperrt, keine ahnung was das im englischen is).
I just thought about a wonderfull joke in which I would say:
For the MortButton use maybe you could team up with the Dev of it, he's also a great programmer.
But now: it works! If the screen is off and I press a locked button, the screen goes on, and off (right as is should).
And now look what you've done. You spoiled my whole well thought joke!
I have to think of another one and that might take time!

Just downloaded the RC and I have to Admit: This Is fcukin GREAT!
There are almost no gabs, and he looks through the favourites lighning fast.

I also wanted to complain about that the scanning (durchsuchen) of Favourites on network pcs took too long and that you should be able to just refresh one favourite. But this is also not possible because even the Network folders are scanned in about 10 seconds (and that are about 15 GB)
So you've got it. I've nothing negative to say about this.

No seriously, the App has improved so well and it works just perfect with all the needs I have :approve: :approve: :approve:.

The only thing that could be added is an easy skin editor, but this is really just optional,
so overall
..:: 11 of 10 for Everything ::..
Just keep up your great Programs.

P.s. will there be another version of MortButtons (maybe with VGA Icons)?

Dann kann ich nur noch sagen: Halt die Ohren steif. Und mach so weiter :approve:

Does this support bluetooth headphone controls? I know betaplayer does- but doesn't sound as good. I am running 3.3 and only the volume controls work.

Only "half officially". There'll be an update with updated language files (esp. the russian one, did some minor changes to the German one, too) and some minor bugfixes (found some bugs in the "Add" dialog when I started a new manual - which is currently only partly available in German here).
That's why it's only hidden in the forum atm. I'll publish it on the main page and some other boards when FFC did fix the russian language files (and maybe skins).

Strange. With which version did this happen?

*g*
But it's got nothing to do with MortButtons. It might have happend with any other application, too. MortButtons doesn't modify anything in the system's button handling.

Well, some devices still have some troubles if a resource hog like MN|5 or TT5 is running. But there's not much left I can do about it without having to rewrite most of the playback routines (which did get some major changes compared with GSPlayer in the new version anyway - esp. for relative volume and microdrive buffer, but also some small bugfixes...).

That's be a bit hard to do. I'd have to keep references about which "extracted favorite" (subdirectories, contained playlists) belongs to which entry in the favorite group. And it'd be a bit awkward to implement in the handling...

Wow, that's a fast drive and connection. My old Yakumo required almost half the time for about 200MB of files on SD...

Thought about that, too, but that'd be quite some work, and there's a lot of other work to do...

It already uses VGA icons if they're available and "Big icons" is selected. With SE_VGA, OzVGA or similar tools, Windows isn't able to load the VGA icons, so all becomes only half sized. But that's what most users of those tools want, anyway...

Probably not. You can try to add them with "not listed button", but if Windows doesn't handle them like common buttons, there's currently nothing I can do about it...
