uhhhh..... where's the beef? I listened to the first fifteen minutes of today's episode and it just felt stupid. I have better things to do than listen to one guy talking about another guys head while a third one laughs loudly in the background over lackluster "humour.'

There's no point in subscribing to this now as it was only intended to be a run of 12 episodes. I'm not sure there are plans for any future episodes. Knowing Ricky Gervais and how he moves from one project to another, I wouldn't count on it.
As was posted above, you can get earlier episodes here: http://alanskerrett.uk.eu.org/2006/0...gervais_p.html

I quite agree jhenning. Until I read your post, I thought I was the only person in the world who didn't find Ricky Gervais or "The Office" the least bit funny.

well, I am glad that there are people who do believe that substance is required in comedy. Acting like a moron does not count as substance in my book.
If you want to listen to something funny AND informative, go download the Diggnation podcast. That is some good stuff... for a geek. diggnation.com

There is substance in the humour of Gervais, however, you obviously do not get it. If you can't appreciate 'The Office' it might be time to stay away from all things comedic. Hey, humour is subjective and there's no accounting for taste.
You would seem to be in the minority as far as Podcast downloaders are concerned; 'The Ricky Gervais Show' is considered to be the world's most downloaded Podcast.
Also, I do have some news on future episodes. It seems you'll have to pay for them this time (if obtained by "legal" methods). According to this article from TechDigest:
No longer available via The Guardian, The Ricky Gervais Show will be available only from Audible.co.uk and the iTunes music store, with the first episode online from February 28th.

I agree diggnation.com is good also. It is imformative, and I like Kevin Rose, but the other guy can be a little annoying (talk about acting like a moron!) . I mean the whole "I am the wild and crazy drunk on the show who tries to be funny!" schtick is little annoying. But I put up with him becuase the show is informative.

they bring up some great points on diggnation regaurdless of whether they are drunk or not, it is interesting to hear someones opinions on new tech related stories.
about the lack of substance in the ricky grevais podcast, pointing out that a mans head looks like a fvcking orange hardly seems worth my time.
Also, just because the masses download it more than any other podcast, doesn't mean that they are right... or educated.

Again, comedy is subjective. Leave it be. If you don't like it, that's ok. I am somewhat educated, and I find the "Office" and the podcasts hilarious.

Totally agree, all comedy is subjective, but what we don't want to be getting into here is labelling people uneducated because of what they listen to.
Similarly, like any review you need to listen to an entire episode / read the whole book to evaluate it properly.
When the Life of Brian came out it was widely panned by critics as claimimng it was about the life of christ. This was fuelled by a number of critics at a preview showing watching the 1st 5 minutes and storming out. They therefore missed the clear distinction where Brian and Jesus are differentiated.
Similalry you could watch 3 minutes of Fawlty Towers and go "Whats funny about a man hitting a car with a twig".
