Potential skin idea for TCPMP 1.0 or other portable media software for WM5

I was reading a rumor regarding a new video ipod that was full screen and had a soft scroll wheel. Here is the link:

http://www.engadget.com/2006/02/10/s...video-ipod-eh/

This could be a great skin for TCPMP in the future or another media player program.

What??? What I mean is that the Axim is much larger, and Its a little hard to control the songs and volume with the little d-pad. Also its not very "Stylish" when compared to the Ipod Video. I agree that the x50 kicks butt when it comes to battery life and screen size, but the iPod video has more storage and smaller size.

True the ipod might be a little more streamlined but they way I look at it is I can do so much more with my Axim. So the ipod has video and music. My Axim keeps track of all my appointments, contacts, lets me surf the web, I can put CD's and movies on it, play games and much more. So the ipod has 60gb of storage and can hold 20 million songs, there is no need to have that much music with you, personally I only listen to 1 or 2 cd's at a time. I'll take my Axim over the ipod any day.

12gb?! That would be sweet! I was about to get the 8gb but if there is a 12 in the works then I'm gonna hold off.

Well, If the 8 or 12GB is gonna cost a couple hundred dollars, why not just get an iPod????

Indeed, although I love my Axim as a pocket computer, it is inadequate as an MP3 player - I like to have variety and a crapload of music (since I'll listen to 5 or 6 albums in a row), and for that I have a Creative Zen Xtra 30 GB, which cost 1.5 years ago about what a 4GB CF card costs today (and it's almost full).

As a VIDEO player, it's alright, as you can make it support different codecs relatively easily. But, the storage capacity still sucks, unless you spend quite a bit more than what a good PMP would cost ...

(goes back to playing with Axim x50v)
Palm m105 > Sony Clié SJ-33 > Dell Axim X50v

Now, if the Axim would run PalmOS4 AND WM2003 ...

It wont be much longer before storage space will become a non issue. As wi-fi hotspots and wi-fi clouds continue to pop up, not to mention Wi-Max, 3G Cell phone networks and many more. Who cares how much storage my portable has when I can just stream the GB's of media off of my home PC. Plus I have more music and video on my home PC than any portable media player could ever store. I have about 75 GB of music and I must have close to a TB of movies and television. WIth this ability and with all the supported codecs and extra features our Pocket PC's make the best media players. Plus who wants to carry multiple devices when 1 device can do everything.
