i was watching my episodes of "overe there" on my x50 with tcpmp last night and it was freezing every 5-10 seconds for about 1-2 seconds, it didnt bother me at first but its slowly driving me insane now.
is there a setting i can change that will stop if from freezing?
i'm on a 4mb cable connection so i doubt that will be the problem.
First some questions, how are you connecting your handheld to the web? If you are using wireless, first thing to check is: Is the firmware on your wireless router up to date? If you are using the cradle, is your USB port in your desktop high speed?
Details, we need details.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll be gone all day.
Traffic lights that are set for 35 are also set for 70
the pc needs to be directly connected to the router with an ethernet cable not wirelessly connected so your router only has to transmitt to your pda wirelessly with no other devices sharing the wireless bandwidth

That's not true. There certainly IS a reduction in efficiency by having both devices wireless, but it's not a case that it MUST be connected by Ethernet.

Where is the stream coming from? You mention your cable connection, so is the stream coming from the Internet? What is the bit rate of the stream?

my pc not wireless its wired, my pc upstairs is wireless & the laptop is wirelss. but the main computer in my room is wired with the cat5 cable so it goes
modem ---> ethernet router ----> pc/wireless router into the ethernet router with cat5 cables.
the avi that i'm watching is on my pc that i connect to thru the wi-fi on my x50. i use resco explorer to connect to my pc and then use tcpmp to view the avi file.
ok, so it's nothing to do with your cable connection then.
Since you're just opening the file over the network, you're at the mercy of the encoding of the file and the network.
If I understand what you're saying, the relevant information is that the PC that holds the file is wired to the router but the Axim is wireless and is connecting to the PC over Wifi using Resco.
You need to find out what the bitrate and resolution of the video is and consider re-encoding it.
Or look at a proper video streaming application like Windows Media Encoder or VLC. These apps will allow you to re-encode the video on the fly to make it PDA friendly.
